Bob Marley remains one of Jamaica’s biggest celebrities decades later. I watched the Bob Marley - One Love movie premiere and let’s just say - it’s worth the watch!

I so much agree with you. I felt the vibes as a Rasta woman. I experienced those days with Sista Rita. I don't want to elaborate on my experience. The actors and actresses were excellent.

FIRST JAMAICAN TO BE OBJECTIVE. FANS APPRECIATE YOUR AWESOME FEEDBACK! TWO HOURS IS NOT ALOT OF TIME TO COVER 36 YEARS. HE WAS A MUSICIAN WHO WAS BORN WITH AN ANOINTED PURPOSE TO IMPACT THE WORLD. IN ONE INTERVIEW HE SAID, HE WAS AFRICAN THEN JAMAICAN. HIS LEGACY IS CARRIED ON BY HIS FAMILY WHO EMBODIES ONE LOVE. WHY SO MUCH HATE FROM JAMAICANS? NO WONDER RITA AND CHILDREN LEFT.

Bob IS a National Hero ! mi swear some people bad mind ! how some hate on this movie now ? you could give dem a million US and dem still find reason to complain ! this movie is entertainment not a comphrensive factual in depth documentary , ohhhh it all so MASSIVE ! 🔥 We Cry , We Dance , We Sing ! Jamaica should be Thankful for all the LOVE it bring for dem struggle ! Why So ? because a man named Bob bring it to the people of the World's attention ! From Africa to London to USA , Japan he set the World on Fire ! and today he is bigger than ever ! Set the People Free !

Your review was well thought out and intelligent, the point you made about how Rita believed in the man and the mission was something some people needed to hear. Btw Lashana Lynch is part Jamaican, so like me and many other born outside Jamaica, we grew up hearing Jamaican patois. I’m also a new subscriber

James Norton is so versatile. Here in England, he's played a vicar and a psychotic violent thug. So good in both roles. I get your point about people not understanding Jamaican. I haven't seen the movie but I am glad to hear Jamaican actors got some breaks too. I'd love it if you reviewed my book, Sound Reasoning. It's about UK Sound System culture. Reggae gone outernational.

I loved it❤! And I agree that the ending seemed abrupt to me. I wondered why they say he passed then talked about his one love concert after. They did sometelling and not enough showing at parts. But overall, I Loved it, I consider myself a big fan but I learned a few things and that made it excellent to me.

Great Review. You have really made an effort to overstand what you were watching. The long talk regarding having Jamaicans portraying Bob and Rita now sound irritating; the job should always go to the person best equipped to do the job. Where I would espouse my chauvinism would be in the selection of the script / screenplay writers. The dialogue provided an uphill slog for Kingsley and Lashanna. Happily, they coped admirably, but the question must be asked, why out of four scriptwriters that no room was found in the inn for a Jamaican or two? Their loss, although the story is powerful, the movie is diminished by the underwhelming script delivered by writers who were clearly out of their depth. Nevertheless, I love this movie. The actors are miming the concert scenes, so what you actually hear are The REAL Wailers in their prime - the number one band in the world. Scared the bejabbers out of Sly Stone and also blew Bruce Springsteen and the Commodores off their headline spots. No-one DARED follow The Wailers, not even Stevie Wonder, and in the cinema with the Dolby surround sound speakers thumping out Family Man and Carly’s symphonic rhythm section, you could hear why. I’m looking forward to watching One Love again during forthcoming long haul flights

No subtitles in Florida either. Great review! Wanted more from the biopic; nevertheless, it seeped deeply into my consciousness and left a nice vibe. Agree that it felt rushed at times, especially when they gloss over significant periods such as exile and when he approached end of life. Tears were coming, but they rushed it, so no time fi cry and penny our loss. That could be intentional.
