That's right, it was a family show and hurt the image. I guess it didn't matter in the end since chips had ran its course and they ended the show at its peak soon after the arrest, but the bust must've affected Tom's career because you didn't see him much after chips, i guess he retired. He never shows up at any chips reunions but Bruce Penhall does, so it must've been acrimonious.

@@dougmasters4579 exactly. It’s possible he’s never been asked to appear, but he did retire from acting in 1997, which might be why he was not featured in ‘CHiPs ‘99.’ Ironically, he does have one more screen credit in 2003.

@@MMAfighter38113 I read a comment from an event organizer that he's been invited to at least one chips reunion but never showed. You can find some of Tom's older 80s movies here on youtube if you're interested. I spotted him in a Married With Children episode, he has a walk-on part. I liked him and Bruce a lot, good replacements for Larry.

@@dougmasters4579 at least he wasn’t being overlooked when it comes to participation in ‘CHiPs’ events even though he was featured in only one season. I figured the scandal may have permanently burned bridges between Tom & the powers that be.

@@MMAfighter38113 Yeah, that's true, and i'm sure a lot of chips fans would like to hear about his experiences on the show, but maybe he might feel uncomfortable about attending a reunion in case the question comes up, and like you said maybe some bad feelings with producers/estrada. Understandable.
