I don’t think anyone says that Mourinho wasn’t great… but to be one of the greats of all time you have to hold that level across your entire career. It’s something Pep, Carlo and Klopp have done but Mourinho has failed again and again the past 10 years.

@@foreigncurrency83 It’s a take I don’t agree with at all. Klopp hasn’t had unlimited funds, I’d say he’s had about the same amount as Pep at City maybe a little less. I’m almost positive Man U has spent more than man city in combined years. I don’t know the specifics but the American premier league panel brought it up a few times over the years. It’s not as disparate as you’d think.

Samuel Eto's was so underrated. Shamefully put aside by Pep Guardiola despite being the man who won him the champions league in 2009. He's also the man who won Barcelona the Champions league in 2006. But he got pushed out brutally. Went to Inter, and both destroyed Barcelona and won the champions league again. He was definitely one of the best strikers in that decade. And despite being the most clutch striker in the champions league, winning 3 within 5 years, scoring in two finals, and always being the qualification man, he was never picked higher than 5th rank for ballon d'or.

Whether it was Drogba or Eto'o Mourinho knew how to get the best from his team. He said he needed specialists in each position but he regularly has 10 vs 11 in training - even since his Porto days. Drogba also defended like a monster against Barca when Ramires/ Torres scored in the Nou Camp. The Zanetti/ Chivu partnership on the left wing is arguably what won them the match. Pique was a CF after Ibra was taken off at half-time. Thiago Motta was sent off in minute 35 leading to that Busquets peek-a-boo meme and Mourinho interrupting Pep/ Zlatan to say it's not over yet!

If anything, give Mou either a mean spirited or a egomaniacal footballers, as long as they have passion to win, Mou will be able to tickle that passion in them. This is why he managed to win treble with the "old men team" Inter, broke Barcelona dominance with Real Madrid, and brought a broken Manchester United to one trophy plus second place but with highest league points Manchester United ever got in the league history. Had he stayed with Inter, I knew Inter would continued their dominance at least locally, but he had to go Madrid instead....
