@@BustaNAugusta Yes, I replied to you. What I mean is it sounds like you're calling their body physique "peak", but how can this be if they're using steroids and maybe testosterone supplements to outperform their actual peak? Thats life. Everyone gets older.
@wilsonram39
@wilsonram39 11 күн бұрын
It wasn't just getting older, it was pushing his body too hard for too long, and not knowing how to rest. It's one thing to go heavy weight. It's another to go high reps. It's another to combine both and train that way for decades, all while Enhanced with a cocktail of different PED's, Repping weights that would make strongmen look twice. The body can only grow so large and handle so much over a lifetime, but even then there's room for rehab. He broke his back on an 800# squat IIRC, then had surgery to fix his back. That's still manageable. But he then broke it again *within a few weeks of the first time.* And so worsened the damage that was already there. He's broken it a number of times, leading to where he is now. In the end, the drive to push through the pain and handle heavy weights through such high reps helped him to win. But it was also that mentality that crippled him.

Not a body builder, although I do enjoy working out. I experienced a total body cramp. I was helping a friend move and was sweating but didn't think much about it. My fingers, toes, back, legs, arms everything started locking up. I could only take very small steps but if I stopped it got worse. I drank 4 of the larger gatorade and 2 reg bottles of water within a hour. For a hour or more I was almost in tears. I have never cried from pain but brother that was as wicked as it gets. Stay safe and strong brothers.

I can relate. Years ago, I did bodybuilding. One time I sat down to do some seated rows. As planned, I added some extra weight, to push a bit harder. Unfortunately it was one plate too many. A couple came up, waiting to get in, so I forced myself through a few reps, due to ego training, and not wanting to look weak (despite lifting far heavier than they would have been.) The result was tearing a muscle, under the trapezius. It was the second worse pain I've had in my life. It felt like giant hooks through the muscle and it took years to heal (if it actually has healed.)

Bodybuilding, like any physical pursuit, can be considered temporary for several reasons: 1. **Peak Physical Condition:** Bodybuilders often push their bodies to extreme limits to achieve a certain physique for competitions or personal goals. Maintaining this peak condition, which often involves strict dieting, intense training, and supplementation, can be unsustainable in the long term. 2. **Aging:** As we age, our bodies naturally undergo changes that can make it more challenging to maintain the same level of muscle mass and definition achieved during the peak of bodybuilding efforts. Hormonal changes, decreased metabolism, and other factors can all play a role in this. 3. **Injuries:** The intense training and heavy lifting involved in bodybuilding can increase the risk of injuries over time. These injuries can impact a bodybuilder's ability to train effectively, leading to muscle loss and potentially altering their physique. 4. **Lifestyle Changes:** Bodybuilding often requires a significant time commitment, strict dietary adherence, and a focused lifestyle. As priorities change or life circumstances evolve, individuals may find it difficult to maintain the same level of dedication to bodybuilding. 5. **Health Concerns:** Extreme bodybuilding practices, such as excessive use of performance-enhancing drugs or extreme dieting, can have negative effects on long-term health. These practices can lead to issues such as hormonal imbalances, organ damage, and other health complications. While bodybuilding can be a rewarding pursuit that promotes discipline, physical fitness, and self-confidence, it is important to approach it with a balanced perspective and consider the potential long-term implications on both physical and mental well-being. Many bodybuilders transition to more sustainable training approaches or adjust their goals as they age to prioritize overall health and longevity. 🤷‍♂️

😮🙏 Thank You So Much for All these Superstar Bodybuilders' sacrifices to show us mere mundane folks what our bodies are capable of when subjected to bodybuilding regiments & respective food intakes! We must appreciate & take good care of our fragile human bodies when young , so as to reduced the many bodily problems when we aged! 🙏🌷🌿🍎🍊🌍✌💜🕊

They went from looking like Greek gods to looking like, "Get off my lawn!" retirement. Age and muscle is temporary. But their greatness is forever legendary. Totally worth it if you were them.

Ronnie starts his day with handfuls of oxycodone and crawls from his wheelchair to do limited machine work with light weights and high reps ..he had 9 disc operations and has limited mobility...but he still loves to train 😮..Flex Wheeler lost a leg from insulin injections and now lives with diabetes...these were.once two of the top bodybuilders of that era competing against each other for fame and glory 😮

Ronnie needs to contact DDP. Seriously, DDP has done some amazing things with people through his DDP Yoga program. Butterbean is one of his more notable success stories. He was in a wheelchair and couldn't stand up straight. But, now he's in great health.

My take on the video was it was rather disrespectful to show former bbrs like that and I innerstand but to a degree. There is ALWAYS a downside of injuries or side effects of overexertion. But there was no need to present the video like that. That's all I am saying. 😇❤️✊️

When I started working out I was asked whether I want to take steroids the first week. It turned out that literally every person at the gym who looks absolutely jacked taked a whole coctail of chemicals like selective androgen receptor modulators and MK-677, pumping themselves with amphetamine-like stimulants before training. A have a good friend who used to be a model and took photos with half naked girls. He has health problems now with 33 y.o. because of all the chemicals he was using. In the meanwhile, my dad is 86 y.o. and grew up on land, he is strong but that is not visible from the outside; the thing is, with 86 he is travelling with me abroad to camp in wilderness and go on fishing trips. This stuff is not worth it. The obsession with looks is not healthy.
