For example, once upon a time at Arsenal there was a player called Jamie o hara. He wasn’t good enough so they sold him off and brought in Cesc Fabregas

But this just isn’t the case with Mason Mount at all, he’s top quality when you get rid of all the mess surrounding Chelsea at the moment. Mount and O’hara are absolutely not the same so your point is so unbelievably illogical and irrelevant. Not to mention he’s still only 24 and will be back to his best when he’s played in the team rather than pushed out so that new signings can play and be justified. And the contract issue, there are players there on the figure he wanted so he just wanted to not be under paid compared to them and they aren’t anywhere near his level, so it’s a principle thing. It couldn’t be any more obvious that a yank with zero understanding about the league and the club is running things. What you’ve got to understand is that most billionaires are narcissistic sociopaths, that’s how they get where they are so no matter what he’ll never accept that the mess is his fault.

Mount hasn't played diddly for the past 18 months. His contract demands were not acceptable to the club, so the only option was to move him on. These guys are going on as if Mount is a world beater and he isn't. Jamie wants Chelsea to pay Mount anything he wants but he's not worth it. Also, Juan Mata was Chelsea two time player of the year also.

You are wrong. There’s no way it’s bc of wanting a lot more money… Ten Hag has put a maximum salary cap on what players can earn at United and he’s on his way there. Much more likely it’s to do with playing time and Boehly wanting to get some money back for FFP and all the other signings he’s made so he can make some more this summer.

Boehly is clearly trying to bring the wages in line. Mount asking for a whopping contract after having a terrible year and doing nothing isnt a good look. Mendy did the same when he was in terrible personal form. At least play well when you are gonna ask for silly wages. The summer is crucial for chelsea if Boehly messes this one up the atmosphere at the bridge will be toxic.

Mason Mount is not a world beater and yes, being English means that he is going to be over priced. But he is still a very good player, who has been managed by only one manager in his career that you can call elite and was Chelsea's best player both those years winning a Champions League in the process. This has been his first bad season and it's not co-incidental that it was a year when Chelsea had 3 different managers. He is a really good athlete who is technically good. He is versatile and can do a lot of things well but nothing particularly at a world class level. Those kind of players generally tend to do well as part of a system as opposed being singular talents. Look at Jordan Henderson, a guy who won Player of the Year when no one thought he was the best player but he performed really well for a great coach as part of a system. Mount is only 24. I'd like to see him play for an elite coach again and see what he can do

Mount got 34 goals and assists in all comps last season (2 in preseason), first player since Hazard to get double figure goals and assists in the PL, 1 of 5 Chelsea players to get double goals and assists in a PL season, player of the year twice, short listed for the Ballon Dor, helped us lift major trophies, always plays for the badge, is yet to hit his prime, has Chelsea DNA, has been at Chelsea 18 years, is the perfect Poch system player, he runs, presses, tackles, works hard, Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool all want him, seriously, whats not to like about Mount? The grass is not always greener.

Hi- I am the fan that called in. I think he’s a very good player. It’s hard to shine in a below average team. It really wasn’t that long ago that people were calling him a hidden gem or an underrated player. I respect your opinion though and thank you for your words. I’ll take it on board.

I mean if Spurs lost Kane I'd he happy or if Arsenal lost Saliba and Odegaard I'd be crazy happy. To call it a disgrace is nonsense. Especially if you don't provide the full facts. Chelsea made him a contract offer of over 200k on a 7 yr deal, he declined as he want 250k on a 4 yr deal. That mean in 3yrs time we are right back to the same situation if he does well. If he doesn't we are stuck with another highly paid Englishman warming our Bench, like Ruben Loftus Cheek

The point of an academy is to develop young players, you select the ones that will makr the first team, and you sell the rest or let them go. Rhe purpose is not to keep them for ever and at some point they move on, its not a crime for goodness sake.

I’m not Mount’s biggest fan by any means but he’s being used as a scapegoat by t football club and the media for all of Chelsea’s problems when in reality the club’s awful recruitment decisions and putting Sterling and Koulibaly on 300k a week has created an environment where other players are demanding parity in wages. Mount has put the hard yards in for the club, almost 200 appearances for the club and he wants to be paid what he’s worth. I say good luck to him

I don't know where they found Alfie but he definitely isn't speaking for the majority of United fans! The only thing he said that I agree with is that we need to sign a backup for Casemiro in addition to potentially signing Mount. I wouldn't go anywhere near Neymar or Tielemans though!

The minute he said he likes Gallagher, I stopped listening. I'd sell Gallagher over Mount any day of the week. But, to be honest, I'd sell them both. I have a lot of respect for what Mount has done, but let's be honest, we haven't managed to find a set position on the pitch for Mount. Besides, if we get an upgrade, a more set player, that'd be good business. Right now, we need a defensive midfielder, a striker and a goalkeeper. If Mount, Gallagher, Loftus Cheek, Hodson Odoi can all allow us to do that, then great!!

Mount could potentially be a great signing. Kane up top, and bring in Rabiot for free to rotate with Casemiro. Add a new GK on top of that to compete with De Gea and we could potentially challenge for the league next year.

Ruben Loftus Cheek is another great homegrown player. Injury problems aside he's probably Chelsea's best academy player after Mason Mount. As a AC Milan fan im happy cos after taking Fikayo Tomori and making him a winner ( Scudetto last season) and now i can see RLC following suit. All reports suggest RLC is talking with AC MILAN. Keeping Mount and paying him a wage out of sync with his performances is the exact kind of thing United would have done in the last 10 years. Mount is a good player but he is not top-shelf. During the precise timeframe where he needed to show the club exactly what he's worth to us, he has been disgraceful and fell out of not only the Chelsea side but the England side.

I love how tney dont talk about the amounts that the new players are being paid, Mudryk is on 97k max, Madueka is way less than that. James was given a 250k max on a 7 yr Contract. Should we be competing in the UCL they get the max amount, however it drops for this season as we aren't in Europe. Chelsea offered Mason 200k but he rejected as he wanted 250k like James but also didnt like the contract length as he wanted a 4yr deal. We dont need players like this. He's the very definition of a mercenary. Proper Chels??? I think not

First off, stop reading into terribly inaccurate sources, look for reputable ones as clearly Sportrac is not one of those for Salaries. Koulibaly is not on 295k, he's on 160k. Enzo is on 5m a year after tax, that would make him earn 200k before tax. Lastly Sterling is getting 350k but included bonus as well as being in the UCL. Many of these players are getting paid way less as we aren't in the CL. Get your facts right mate. Chelsea have actually already lowered the wage bill down to 80k average due to that clause. Raheem got his salary as he was a consistent performer for 5 years. He didn't deserve due to his age. Money Money had a good year 1 yr ago. He's been shite for a full season. He's not a central midfielder. He's an attacking mid who cant defend, make consistent passing, or even dictate play. To put that into perspective, I'd say people who want a mid who checks all those boxes should look to Conor, who while average he atleast has never said he wants to leave.

Mount is good but whether he is able to bring United game to a higher level is anybody guess. NO, i dont want to see Neymar in United shirt. A cover for Casemiro is preferred on top of a No.9. and then lastly in defensive area. Hopefully, some players leaving can fetch some capital return to sort things out.
