Sometimes that 1 remaining enemy can get a kill on a ramming opponent bringing it down to 1v1 so its not a guarantee.

@@tomstech4390 The way ramming mechanics work 2 Warpsites ramming each other should also always kill it each other. If one of them flies the ramming signal he needs to have more than 43000 HP remaining in order to survive. Another chance to maybe survive the ram would be to reverse and the enemy has to catch up to you (from the prespective of Adam Stuart). Might help, might not. So, the ram would have been the best option from the Boston_Tea_Party there. However, since the Boston Tea Party is better at throwing tea overboard a ship than actually ramming the ship I assume his plan really was to go around, park next to Adam Stuart and start to throw the tea.

@@klauba I think @Toms Tech was trying to say that the rammer could end up being killed before actually getting anywhere near to ramming the enemy. Thus making it a 1vs1.

I'm a lefty with the mouse, my right hand is on the number pad, which means the shift key is out of reach. So it's less awkward to just use the scroll wheel.

Lewis Sargent it is worth losing it because you should be pointing your nose at the reds anyway and should your broadside get shot at, you’re doing something wrong or you’ve outplayed yourself and should consider surrendering.

Lewis points out that it is worth to keep the camo because of the extra dispersion it offers, and you point out that the negative aspect of the camo outlining the citadel is only in effect if you play her wrongly. Both of you basically state that the camo should be kept.

Doing that "everyone concentrate at one cap" plan is actually a poor idea, even if you could coordinate it. Nearly every ship in the game is stronger defending than attacking. So if the red team were at all competent (a big if!), they would just kite you at your concentration point and wait for the inevitable crossfire.

It is, but it is better than no coordination. At least the team communicates, and doesn't sit in their capcircle waiting to be crossfired while insulting each other and making the match a 12 v 12X1 match, with 12 individual teams. It isn't a guaranteed win when you communicate, but it does mean fire can be focused on targets and strategies can be discussed.

Yeah, big problem is the half that switches side either goes the long way which takes them out of the fight for too long or cuts through the middle exposing their broadside and telegraphing their intent.

It's not a poor idea at all. If all the enemies in the South dies, it's easier to get control of the middle. Having control of the middle, the South and having a numerical advantage is the fast lane to victory.

@@UndeadDjingis problem is that is a low tier map. Your heavier ships don't have the speed to make that kind of maneuver and while doing it half your ships are out of the fight with their shots blocked by the islands. In order to go down the middle where their shots aren't blocked they end up in a crossfire showing broadside. Against a hesitant or tunnel-visioning enemy it works, anyone else you get stomped. It only slightly works in the domination mode but then your running pure defense for most of the fight.

Besides the shift key he can also hold the right mouse button. Using the RMB instead will zoom out to your ship and let you look around while holding your turrets in place so they don't get off target.

Because I play a lot of mid-tier I see that map a lot. And I think you're Rong with a capital R, jingles. In about 80% of the many games I've had there, the team who goes for the middle cap right at the start loses. The reason is that the flank they leave loses, because it's then outnumbered, and then the remaining friendly ships are bracketed. Happens all the time.

The rush one side tactic is stupid. You need to drive behind the islands in the middle in order to not give broadside. Then when all your team is together and bundled up you are already donw 2 caps and in a crossfire.

Traylay, I love Jingles. He has great commentary. Unfortunately, Jingles has only a grasp of basic tactics. To be fair, that more than the majority of the player base. :) However, you are correct. Everyone sailing into one corner of the map is just begging to be cross fired and killed. Also, what is more common when teams try this is that they lose the slowest 2-3 ships to the opposition before they can even group up. So, not only are the begging to be cross fired, but they also sacrifice team member.

He recently stated that a "Lemming-train" or Zerg-rush" ist rather useless, as you now also put it out, because you open the "blob of ships" to a crossfire from various directions. He just didn't say it explipitly today, and instead assumed the position of a "newb-player" on that potato-team. Didn't work too well for them.

One thing I have noticed about many WoW players, they never think about turret placement and loose lots of time waiting for their turrets to move to the target because they look around and spot with their turret view.

The major problem with sending all your ships to one side on that map is that the BBs at those tiers are simply too slow. The DDs and CAs from the enemy team can easily overtake them and whittle them down before they can get behind the large islands. The spotting from that also opens them up to broadside fire from the enemy BBs. Since it's such a small map, most of them won't have much trouble getting into firing range. Finally, those large islands block your fire for quite awhile, meaning the battle will likely be decided long before you can shoot at anything in the cap you decided to "rush."

Jingles! Grouping up and "driving the enemy before you" is called a lemming train. it almost never works and is never a good idea (in random battles. 7v7 it's necessary). Teamwork is good but please don't encourage people to do more lemming trains. :D

Reasons why I only play PVE 1) I left world of tanks because I was tired of teammates who couldn't manouver and beath at the same time. 2) If I suck I don't wanna bring down the rest of my team. 3) Bot allies are allot more consistent and are atleast as competant as the enemy.

Just this morning I was playing my Bismark and watched in disbelief as 3/4 of my team lemming trained all the way to the south just to be stopped dead in their tracks by two enemy BBs. How do I know there were only two, besides spotting? There were nine enemy ships up where I pushed and the enemy DD had gotten himself killed. Absolutely amazing.

I absolutely hate when my team tries the whole group up idea on that map. It just takes too long and you always leave your BBs behind to get slaughtered as it’s a low tier map and they’re slow. Can it work? Sure but the odds are seldom in your favor, you give the enemy so many options to counter and you take out a third of your ships from battle to do it.

All those ships getting deleted after sailing broadside...been noticing this more and more recently. There's always been players in the game who fail to grasp the basic mechanics, give broadside to heavy guns, and fail to protect themselves. But ever since the COVID-19 lockdown kicked in, there's been a surge of bad, inexperienced and frankly stupid players joining the game. At this point, I'm actually impressed when a teammate manages to angle properly, protect their vulnerable bits, or demonstrate that they're capable of using more than a handful of brain cells at once. There's a whole new crop of potatoes out there, and their numbers are legion.

scroll zooming might be annoying to watch but when you are in the battle and that is what you do to zoom. It doesn't bug the user. I do scroll zooming too and it doesn't but me when I'm playing. Yes, it is annoying to watch. If I ever send in a reply I'll make sure the scroll zooming is way outweighed by the incredible result

My answer to that first question is no, it always feels like the enemy are coordinated by lord Nelson and my team is coordinated by bloody stevie wonder. However, most likely I’m just a deluded arse.

I always seem to be asking "What is my team doing?" and sometimes I ask "What am I doing?" :)

I think the mouse shaking was adam trying to switch targets. I don't think he knows that you can press X to unlock your current target.

Got a same thing in world of tank while in a tier 4 games on Abbaye, for not know godamn reason. Half of the ennemy team rush the middle to die in a giant crossfire and my team, somehow, to lose also half of the team in the process

Too bad I didnt record one of my plays yesterday. Played the Hermes carrier; I was the last ship standing against 2 enemy ships + enemy carrier. I sank both of the last 2 battleships and I started pummeling the enemy carrier after taking their cap. The last battleship was able to get in some shots after coming in to protect their cap but I was able to torpedo and bomb him multiple times on his sail from our cap. Magical play

Nice work from the Warspite, In spite of that (sorry), there is a special place in hell for players who feel the need to constantly zoom in and out between shots when all you have to do is watch the mini map...

Map awareness: quick look at the mini-map every 30 seconds.

You don't see health bars or torps on the mini map. Of course it is ok to free view (using the right mouse and the shift key) next to keeping an eye on the mini map to get an idea what is happening around you. Watch experienced players like Flamu or Flambass on Twitch how they get situational awareness. This Warspite player's intention is ok.
