Bokeh in Macro Photography

An alternative approach to macro photography in the field. Using large apertures of c.f2 to render a meadow in bokeh whilst accentuating butterflies, dragonflies and moths. But the the approach benefits from a very early (or alternatively a sunset time) - so set your alarm clock and enjoy nature when it's at it's best.

Hi Jimmy have been following this series of macro shots on your Flickr photostream recently, have been experimenting myself with the "subject in it's habitat" style of photography over this summer - not an easy option but one worth sticking with I believe. As you say with a little help from Photoshop your images portray a beautiful feeling of "life in the meadow". 👍

Personal preference but I wouldn't use a tripod with my Butterfly photography. Personal preference but I like to stay mobile, especially in peak season.
