I look out for Gyo Fujikawa as well! My first born was born in 1981 and she received some of her books as a baby and I was also drawn to her artwork! And I loved the multicultural children as well! I love vintage children’s music books, the hardcover kind that was used in the classroom so that is one of the BOLOs where I would use most of the pages!

What unique books! I know Gyo F., and have seen a nursery rhyme book she illustrated, but I have never heard of the others you showed. I have several of the My Bookshelf books, which I love.

That floral book at the beginning Garden of Truth is gorgeous I’ll be on the look out- and totally agree I love Gyo Fujikawa ❤❤illustrations are the sweetest - I’d never seen the color collector’s handbook before. Thank you for sharing Meg! 😊and it was fun having you ‘shop’ with me yesterday ❤I hope to get better at the whole process

I aim to be brave enough to do that one day! Although I have trouble focusing on what I'm looking at/for even when I'm alone and not videoing! Ha! You did a great job. It was fun going along. I will try to jump in if you do it again tomrrow! I love church yard sales!

I bought a book at the library for 2 dollars and I started to cut it apart. My daughter looked it up on eBay and it was 200 dollars. I almost cried!

It does happen! I always check now before I tear into a book. I've never found one that valuable! :)

There are two books in this video. The Uppercase Encyclopedias set is where one of them come from; there are more in that series. They are pricey but super cool.

I always get confused on if we can use them in a journal that we may potentially sell. I have so many, but I haven’t sold any of my journals so I didn’t have to worry about it at this point. Is it okay to use if we don’t scan and make copies?

Most books are fine to use in pieces in journals, yes. You are right; you can't scan/make copies and sell journals using copies. There are a handful of companies/artists who forbid the use of even their actual pages (not copied), but I am not sure I know who they are right now. I've heard mentions of Mary engelbreit, but I don't know. Disney is iffy too. But I do use some Disney pages.

@@ChasingRetro Daphne’s Diary is one that I would love to be able to use, but they have a strict copyright. Two of my faves are the Diary of an Edwardian Lady and The Illustrated Florals of Britain and Northern Europe. I bought them used online but the second one has a ton of pages to use.

@@ChasingRetro I had to order it online, but I found it fairly reasonable. It's so hard to part with the pages!
