I made a ton of stuff with my Craftsman Bolt On kit. I like multi use tools like this. Also had the tire pump and a bunch of other ones. Great stuff.

Moved to UK, Craftman is not sold here. Slowly building up my Milwaukee Feul toolset. My 2012 Craftsman v20 drill won't die, and I have no plans to replace until it does. I like it mostly due to the built in H & V Levels, which are very useful, saving me from getting a drill press.

I got the big duffle bag of Craftsman power tools at Sears in 2006 and they're all still going strong. I bought 2 of the Lithium Die hard Lithium Ion batteries with them and they're still fine. For Ryobi, I had 2 Ryobi batteries last less than a year.

I have the B&D Matrix, which is the same drill with different branding, and I love it. I bought the corded model because I never buy battery powered tools,. but mine is also still running like a champ and looks very similar with all sorts of different particles in it. I wish I had bought a few more attachments, but you can still find them online. I have the drill driver, impact driver, trim saw, and sander. I just used all of them pretty extensively on several projects. I would have bought the oscillating tool, but but I already have one of those. I think if I buy any more it would probably be the router. Mine was the first gen, but they released a bunch more attachments later on with the 2nd gen, and then I think it was all discontinued shortly after that. I remember that Craftsman had some different attachments, but they're all interchangeable. The Crafstman attachments are all crazy expensive online now, like $100+. I don't know who's buying them at that price when the B&D ones are available for $30-$50, and they're identical.

I don’t know what kind of projects you intend on using that router for, but from personal experience, I’d stay away. It really lacks the power to route out anything significant (door frames). That being said, I’m a tradesman, and the entire line up wouldn’t be sufficient enough for my uses. To each his own, but I thought I’d try to steer you away from having to buy another router anyways.

@@NN-pk7cg Thanks, I'm not set on it, and if I need a router I'd be fine buying a regular one. That's just probably the last attachment that I originally wanted to have and don't have. I'm just an average DIYer, so nothing crazy, but I will say that I've used the crap out of the other attachments and they've all held up very well. That little trim saw has come in very handy, even though it's only good for up to about 3/4 in thick material. I've cut a lot of stuff with it over the years, and still have the original blade on it. I have a circular saw for bigger tasks, but when you're working with thinner material and you can just quickly swap out the head on your drill to make the cuts, it's very convenient and useful. Like I said, I haven't had any problems with any of them, and I've used them a LOT over a ~12 year period. I've actually put that drill through some pretty extreme work drilling through hardened steel, so it's not been just normal light around the house stuff.

Planned obsolescence is the reason why they dont make most batteries last that long. They manufacture them in a way that cause something to fail after so many charge cycles or so much time so that you have to buy a new one. They are not looking to sell you a tool one time and have you brag about how great its battery is 10 years down the road, they want you to brag about its capability and then have a battery fail in a few years to sell you another battery. Craftsman made money from you only a couple of times on that drill, the initial sale, and the extra battery. Nowadays, they sell you the tool for almost nothing and then overpriced batteries every couple of years, and they make more money.

Anything good for consumers, is bad for businesses. That's why Sears is the way it is now. Trying to sell products that are actually good, doesn't make a good, consistent, greedy profit.

Honestly that's why I just buy air tools now. Toting the line sucks but everything is usually solid and good for decades.
