@@Nhxn_not true at all. That is a TON of debt and it accrues interest. It’s not easy to pay off that much debt just bc you make above the median family income. Especially when you aren’t living at home w mommy and daddy and if you have a family. Be realistic.

@traceyevans2757 By signing a contract you are bounded by their conditions. And they're sneaky. Not only that but you're actually losing out on more money. Within a year of experience you open up more opportunities for a higher salary. But instead you're stuck in the same hospital, often for longer than 2 years. And if you don't meet their requirements you won't get that loan reimbursement, not to mention, no hospital will actually pay for all your loans, only a percentage of it, usually very small.

Great points! That's ultimately why I didn't go that path.

That's surprising, I've not heard of that happening before. Private loans are always an option too. My third year I didn't take any school loans out and just did what my bank called their "med school/healthcare professionals" loan. It had a better interest rate.

@@BoltCRNA I was approved for private loans, however the schools still have to verify loans and mine were denied by my school because my cost of attendance was already covered. A lot of the “med school” loans are no longer available. I believe it is due to COVID-19

Ive heard mixed things.. Can apply to CRNA school as a travel nurse? They said you can as long as you develop good rapport with the nurses and manager in a short period of time coz then you can ask a letter of recommendation from them.. Is that true?

@@charleneconstantino1618 I think that depends on the program in particular you are applying to. As each individual program sets that specific criterion. I haven’t seen anything specific to travel nursing. Only that there must be a minimum of 1 year critical care experience such in an ICU. The AANA, sets the criteria for the national level for their accredited programs, issued by the COACRNA in the USA. However, individual programs can require more experience such as 2 years minimum experience in critical care in an ICU. So, as a travel nurse you must be an ICU travel nurse, all other positions such as emergency department or just MEDSURG nursing isn’t considered “critical care” for all accredited programs. Hope that helps. July 2020 current list of COACRNA accredited programs. -Must be certified to get AANA membership & must employers only take COACRNA accredited-program graduates. www.coacrna.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/July-2020-LOAP-1.pdf This doesn’t have hyperlinks but is up to date and sometimes the program school search on their website takes a while to update. Plus as of February 2020 there will no longer be masters level programs for Nurse Anesthesia. Now all programs must be currently a doctorate program.

@@BoltCRNA have you posted about paying for your ADN & BSN/just BSN still while trying to either save up or make payments on those loans and just apply to CRNA school since you can’t really save up while trying to pay for those undergraduate loans.
