Bonding Silicone Rubber

Most everyone battles to get a good bond to Silicone Rubber. I was able to do this using PARFIX 3770 Primer and allowing it to dry. Then applying PARFIX 1000 Instant Adhesive and holding it is place about 20 seconds. The adhesion was very good.

can it use as primer for HCR ( High Temperature Vulcanizing silicone rubber) which is cured at 170 Centigrade such as ELASTOSIL G 3242 ?

No. Silicon specific.

is the bond going to take the same temperature as silicone? around 250 Celsius? thanks for the video.

Unfortunately no, only 80 Centigrade. If you need high temperatura, use a Silicone RTV but it will have a much weaker bond.

Parfix 1000 has a rigid bond. It doesn't do well when you twist it. Maybe sometime I will do the same video but with a rubberized cyanoacrylate like Parfix 3411.

It looks like the Parfix is another name for Parsons Adhesive who make the primer #37702 or #37704. However I am not sure which model the super glue is when you have the number parfix 1000. Where would we get this from? Thanks

You would need to try Parfix 3770 primer with Parfix 3411 Rubberized Cyanoacrylate Adhesive.

What plastic? Very difficult to bond to low surface energy plastic like Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), Teflon (PTFE), and Polyethylene(PE), Polyethylene(PE), and Polycarbonate. No primer needed for HDPE , PVC, PET/PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate), and nylon.

Minimum buy through a distributor is 24 bottles of one ounce PARFIX 1000 in two ounce bottle and 24 bottles of PARFIX 3770 in two ounce bottle.

Yes but you need to have alot of surface area on the wall.
