The problem I used to have with silicone was having it cure in the tube between uses. I found by removing 1/4" of silicone from the end of the tip and replacing it with petroleum jelly that it keeps the air out and greatly extends the life of the tube.

The black RTV silicone also works wonderfully to fix cracks in leather and attaching a spoiler to your car. Just make sure the area is clean before applying this silicone. The spoiler will not come off easily if prep done right.

Excellent video! I had a 2016 Ford Explorer and the B pillar plastic cover containing the keyless entry pad kept separating from the two sided tape. I took it in 2 times under warranty and they kept replacing the tape which held for a couple of weeks. I decided to remove the tape and put some Black RTV sealant to hold it and it is solid as a rock a year later! Like you said, many uses in the shop for this stuff! 10 Fatty's to match your 10 Sweets! (screw in end of silicone tube) I found that it works better to buy little mini plastic bags (like on eBay), put it over the tip, zip tie it and squeeze until full, when it dries it dries completely over and around tip, I also stuff plastic food bags in the end. If you put in refrigerator it will last another 25% longer, no mess, just rip off the glob and start using.

Trying to figure out if this would be a good type of silicone to use around perimeter of glass block window (window has a vinyl frame and a nailing flange...setting it in a wood frame) Instructions say to completely fill perimeter around window with silicone. Would this stuff work better than regular cheap silicone?...or is it not supposed to be used at such a thickness? (Gaps are appx 1/4" and a couple of inches deep)

@@SweetProjectCars In situations where the mounting surface is not horizontal enough to hold a weight I used to use thin wood strips similar to carpet tack strips without the tax of course. Find a location opposite of the mounting and cut the wood strip slightly longer than the span so that you have to bow it to put it in place to hold the glued piece. Multiple strips can be used for more Force to hold in place. If you have a problem with the workpiece shifting under Force, simply use your blue tape to temporarily stop the shifting.
