I actually have a Real news paper from that town on this story. It's been a cherished family prize as one could imagine. I got it last year after my brothers passing. It's really a time capsule to say the least. We've read it many times through the years. I feel very blessed to own this Historical treasure. Thanks for this great video Mr Skinner.

Excellent presentation. One of the very best I’ve seen. The story teller not only knows his stuff but he knows how to narrate. I absolutely love the fact that as the story is told you are traveling by car following the actual routes and locations that the Bonnie and Clyde story involves. To boot, the author also includes a “now and then comparison of some of the most important locations involved in the, to me, heartbreaking drama of this infamous couple. I will never be comfortable with the fact that Clyde was betrayed in such a shameless way by the person and family of the person who Clyde rescued, by a daring breakout, from an original Texas hellhole prison, if ever there was one. Clyde had such terrible luck throughout his whole life, maybe how his life ended just fit his whole life. Well, I am happy he had a women who loved him so much that she planned to die with him. How many of us today could claim such a thing. Clyde, your tombstone says it perfectly, “ Gone...But not forgotten. Yes sir.

Ivor Methvin fully cooperated with Frank Hamer. For two months, there were frequent and intense discussions about the details of Henry's involvement in setting up Clyde and Bonnie. Texas prison officials knew almost immediately after the Eastham Prison debacle in January of '34 that Methvin could be the key to the end of the road for the outlaws.

Clyde was never going back to jail and I honestly don't blame him for what he went thru plus the nonstop harassment of Texas cops who always tried to get him in trouble before he went on that crime spree. So at that point, never going back to prison, he couldn't live free so he tried to stay alive. He wasn't just out for murder, he killed people that were trying to kill him, cops or not. Bonnie never murdered anyone, she was just Clyde's accomplice and lover. Clyde always stated he never wanted to kill anyone but he killed if he had to, to live another day

The real fascination with this pair is because it plays out like a modern Shakespearian tragedy and is part of American history . Like Billy the Kid , and Jesse James , they are viewed today as rebellious anti-heroes whose crimes are eclipsed by their notoriety and infamy . Rightly or wrongly , their story continues to capture our interest and imagination.

This was cold blooded murder, the law men were executioners on this day and there was a strong chance Bonnie was pregnant.

Theresa Pierce it was a cowardly ambush with intent to kill. Bonnie was in 3rd month pregnant, as she opened the car, she was in socks, a magazine and a sandwich in hands. They killed an innocent unborn....
@billanthony7896

Theresa Pierce- Far from being glamorous desparados, Bonnie And Clyde were a couple of psychotic killers! It's easy to blame law enforcement for engaging in a cowardly ambush, but given the real life history of these two scumbags, it's entirely understandable why the posse shot first and asked questions later.
@billanthony7896
@billanthony7896 4 жыл бұрын
@@losmosquitos1108 - I don't know that it's true Bonnie was pregnant at the time, but even if that's so, she was the one who put her unborn child in jeopardy through her actions and lifestyle. Many criminals have been romantizied over the years, some of them justifiably so. Bonnie and Clyde don't belong on any such list. They were a couple of psychotic, cold blooded, murderers! They were far from being a Butch Cassidy and Sundance, and proved repeatedly they were willing to go out of their way to kill anyone in sight... Most often innocent civilians who had the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the right time.
@losmosquitos1108

Bill Anthony yeah I get that. My only problem is law enforcement being judge and executioner at the same time.... simply ain‘t right. It is lynch, not law. Hang them, right, but this was a terrible act of helplessness....
