Never give up, folks. Took me 39 years, countless wrong men, being a single parent & living a very isolated life to learn how to receive love as well as give. Now here we are, nearly 5 years strong but neither of us doubt that we both have found our person. Really does come when you're not even expecting.

Absolutely does. I had left my love life in God's hands and He rewarded me with the only man who would put up with me, grow spiritually with me, and love me for real - as best as a man can do. 💜☮️✝️✡️

One of the most perfect songs ever written. And nobody can do it quite like Bonnie Raitt herself. I had the great pleasure of witnessing exactly that when she came through London with her touring band about ten years ago. It was largely the same band that had recorded ‘Road Tested’ twenty five years prior to that (been with her ever since), which to my mind is one of the best live albums out there. The whole show was a masterpiece from beginning to end, plus her wonderful slide guitar and all the rest of it. But the biggest surprise of the evening, for me, was the sheer power of her voice. Maybe the people on the desk were messing with us but it seemed the sound engineers had to bring down her mic level urgently and substantially after the first few breaths. It just wasn’t normal. That’s a whole load of very tuneful SPLs you get at a Bonnie Raitt show!

Apart from the wonderful sound and Bonnie Raitt's unmistakable voice, the background singers Arnold McCuller and Fred White also contributed to the fact that this song became a masterpiece and is still one of the best rock/pop pieces ever. Together with their amazing singing colleague Bridgette Bryant, they were already an acoustic and visual highlight at Phil Collins' legendary "Seriously" concert in 1990 at the Waldbühne Berlin

Bonnie sings this with genuine feelings. She was in her 40’s when she married, and sadly it didn’t last. I would say she didn’t find love in the nic of time… no kids and no husband, alone her whole life. The price for fame is much higher for women.

This song came on the radio when I was 22 and during the time I fell in love with my now-ex. I always thought he’d be the one to bring me a family and marriage and I always wondered why I was so scared to marry him or have kids with him..really it was his energy that didn’t want to be with a woman in a straight relationship. Feminine Women repulsed him. Just when I thought this song was for him at 22 and I was saved from being childless and single at 22 - with hopes of a bright future with him, he ended up taking those 7 years and I let him waste them on me. Now at 29 this song rings true more than ever regarding time and changing, and age, family, memories and parents. I’m glad I didn’t start a family with him even though I thought he had saved me from starting a family later in life, meeting him when I did. This song hit so deep and so emotional when I found it but really my soul knew my future was doomed with him still, and that the right one would come in the “nick of time” even if it was later. God’s timing is always perfect. Never late, never early.

Gorgeous tune. The lyrcis still resonate as much in my mid-50s as they did in my early 20s, when this was released -- the fear of time running out when you're pusuing something.
