A little inspiration to whet your appetite. Watching an expert drive a quarry Hunslet is not an everyday experience. Perhaps you too could drive a loco like this in your own garden, only 16 mm scale is a bit cheaper! Footage captured in Cornwall in October 2022, on the 1 foot 11 1/2 inch gauge Launceston Steam Railway. The locomotive is no. 679 "Covertcoat", built in 1898 for the Dinorwic Quarries.

Rails in the Garden are a group based in NSW, Australia that meet regularly to run our live steam and battery-electric trains on 32mm and 45mm gauge tracks at events held in member's gardens and at regular indoor exhibition events. We cater to all the common garden scales including Gauge 1, 16 mm, G-scale and 7/8ths scale.
We produce our own quarterly Australian magazine devoted to the garden railway hobby and subscription enquires are welcomed by e-mail: magazine@ritg.org.au.
