Hello friends!! In case you hadn't noticed, my channel name has changed! But don't worry, you can still expect a lot of book content! I just wanted to have the freedom to start incorporating non bookish content as well. I have a lot of ideas for some future videos (both bookish and not) and I can't wait to share them with you!

My recommendations Winnifred Watson:Miss Pettigrew lives for a day Elizabeth Gaskell :North and South, Wives and daughters (unfinished but you can see the ending) Pride and Prejudice with zombies (if you feel wicked, the movie is also good)

I just read The Jane Austen Society in December, and absolutely loved it! It gave me all the warm, happy, fuzzy feelings of reading Jane Austen.

I've been a Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer fan since I was 15. I've all Austen's books and 20+ of Heyer's books. My favourite is also Arabella. Regency Buck, These Old Shades, The Masqueraders are among my other favorites. I've read most of her books, loved her wits and Regency slangs. And lots of lol moments! My granddaughter has downloaded the books not in my possession and the 6 or 7 I've never read. I mean to read/reread them in good time. Pride and Prejudice, the abridged version was my Literature book in school then, which led me on to Georgette Heyer. Love both of them and you for a lovely presentation. And you do look charming yourself!

I love love Georgette Heyer's Books. I have read some of hers and she is funny. I never heard of these two before and I have them written down as well as the other ones you mention of hers. Happy Reading :)

I loved this video so much Desi!! Longbourn by Jo Baker (told from the perspective of the servants at Longbourn) and The secret dairy of Lizzie Bennet by Bernie Su and Kate Rorick are two fab P&P retellings I highly recommend!!

I just discovered you and love your videos! I know this isn't an Austen-esque book, but I saw you like the Anne of Green Gables books. I don't know if you have dug into any of LM Montgomery's other books, but my favorite is The Blue Castle! It is so funny, I laugh out loud! And it has the same gorgeous imagery as the Anne books. I feel like LM Montgomery is great with wit! I also loved the Emily of New Moon Books and A Tangled Web. All superb!!!

I listened to Dangerous Alliance and LOVED the audiobook of it and just enjoyed it! I'm going to be putting up a lot of these books on my TBR. :)

Have you ever read Clare Darcy? She has load of Regency Romances...loves those when I was in high school. Keep the recommendations coming...

These were awesome recommendations! I am definitely going to read some of these books. Have you heard of or read the "Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman" trilogy? It's pretty much Pride and Prejudice from Darcy's perspective. It's quite drawn out but not in an annoying way and Pamela Aidan adds tremendous detail and depth to his character, which I really enjoyed.

Me watching this video: * grabs pen and opens goodreads to take notes * This is awesome Desi!!!! I love how much you love Austen - it's infectious!! I have been reading Mansfield Park this month for my bookclub (it's my last Austen to finish!) and I have been bingeing some of the Austen movies. They're just so lovely!!

Definitely! I just currently don’t have any shelves 😂 We moved about a year ago and I’ve been looking for vintage bookshelves ever since. My books currently live mostly in the floor lining the walls of my bedroom 😂

also authors: Rosamund Pilcher, D. E. Stevenson, (granddaughter of Robert Louis Stevenson) Barbara Pym, and Alexandra Raife. Lots of books set in Scotland and England in a little bit more modern times. Beautifully written. ( For some very funny ones, check out P.G. Wodehouse-(who was the creator of 'Jeeves' and Bertie , a la 1920s)). Enjoy and you can thank me later!

I would also recommend Mary B by Katherine Chen. It is another great Mary Bennett novel.

If you havent already read it I would highly recommend Longbourn by Jo Baker. It Longbourn from the servants perspective I loved it. Also The Clergymans Wife by Molly Greeley, which tells the story of Charlotte Collins. Not as good as Longbourn but worth a read.

I just found out that Molly Greeley has written a book about Anne De Bourgh called The Heiress. I haven’t read it yet, but have it on hold at my library.

I adore Pride and Prejudice! It's just not my favorite Jane Austen novel :) Emma is my absolute favorite. But I didn't include them on this list because I wanted this list to focus on books to read that will make you feel similar to how you do when you read Jane Austen novels :)

I have seen a Hindi movie called ' Bride and prejudice' and one series called ' Trishna ' which is also like retelling of pride and prejudice. I just love the novel and your video helped me known more the books which are retelling of pride and prejudice. So thank you, you are awesome.
