As a lifelong bookish person I have found that buying books and reading books are two different hobbies. I met my husband when we worked in a bookstore together when I was in university. We have a lot of books (to put it mildly). These days, after 29 years together, I indulge my need to read the new and shiny by utilizing the library. I now take a curated approach to when I buy new books. I am not about to run out of things to read anytime soon :-)

When I was young, I used to read consistently. It was my favorite thing. But somewhere in my life, I became deeply depressed and lost my passion. I'm happy to say, last year, I prioritized reigniting my love for reading. I set a goal to read 12 books and exceeded my mark. I am completely in love with reading again. And guess what? I get to visit Powell's in October during my honeymoon. I'm so excited. I hope to find copies of nostalgic stories from my childhood like Frog and Toad and Little House in the Big Woods. Thank you so much for being a part of my bookish life. ❤ I truly appreciate the light you radiate into this world.

Yes to pushing yourself to get over anxiety. I used to have agoraphobia 10 years ago. For a few years I wouldn't leave the house in months as I was so scared of people. One of the scariest things was ordering a drink in a cafe. They stare at you like you should know what you want before you look at the menu. I made myself go to cafes once a week to get better. I am fully healed now. Push yourself to do the scary things 🥰

Hey, I wanted you to know I love you just the way you are! I'm glad you are finding the importance of loving and accepting yourself. So many times I think we believe that will be this improved better version of ourselves, and then we will feel good about ourselves. But we need to give our love to ourselves in this present moment. Talk gently to yourself. Give yourself hugs. Think over all the beautiful wonderful things you've done from kissing your dog to inspiring your 77.7 thousand subscribers!!! 🥰😍😘

Dear Morgan I recently started showing symptoms of depression. Since then my days have had ups and downs. A while ago, watching your video with Christy (which I've been following for a while) I started following you, but I didn't have time to watch your videos. When I finally started watching I wondered why I didn't start sooner! I want you to know that, somehow, your videos have helped me, given more color to my gray days. I look forward to getting home and sitting in front of my computer to watch your videos. I could watch them all day. You have helped one life, and perhaps you are helping many others. Your videos are incredible. Thank you very much. Greetings from Brazil.

Goodnight Mr Tom has been one of my favorite books since childhood. I don't know how many times I've read it, but I cry every time! I love the community, the friendships, Mr Tom, and Wills creativity 🥰🥰🥰 I think, I guess, you are very hard on yourself and that's definitely one reason for your anxiety. I'm so glad you find books that help you forward, but talking to someone could be even better. I highly recommend tapping for calming yourself, I use it myself and its so calming and effective. Best of luck 🥰🥰

LOTR is my favorite book of all time and even I can acknowledge how SLOW the second part of the Two Towers is. I commend you for finishing it! I love how much personality Gimli and Legolas have, and the banter back and forth between them in the books. I’d love to see the Glittering Caves and Fangorn with them. 🖤 Their relationship continues to develop in such a pure way in the Return of the King.

You are controling your anxious feelings, and by doing so, are enpowering your soul. I know first hand how you feel, as I stopped going out into the world in January 2020, as I have said on here before. However, I do go out from my rural front door, and walk my black rescue greyhound Madge. She is the only thing that gets me out. I have managed sometimes to walk further, as being away from my home makes me anxious, yet I love being out in nature? We have to be kind to ourselves, and just take one step at a time, and you are doing that beautiful girl, with the beautiful soul. Thank you for sharing your feelings, and your love of books - I too have that love. Blessings and hugs to you, from Jilly & Madge in Devon, England.xxx

Dear Mo, I've been watching you from the start in 2020. I've seen your channel grow, your periods of over-working, burnout & opening up about your anxiety. And it is SO inspiring to see how you've weathered it all & came out wiser. Yes, you may still have hard days, but I don't think you'd have dealt with the bookstore/ camera situation of adapting & overcoming in the way do did. To overcome the self-sabotage of perfectionism. Don't lose sight of the pride you deserve to feel. It's ok to still struggle, but that doesn't mean you hadn't grown stronger 💗. I often go through challenging periods of mental health (especially at the moment), but I hope to take inspiration from you, to get through the hard times & still find moments of contentment

I suffered with anxiety but this year not so much. I don't know what has changed. I feel more happier & content. I lost 9kg since 2020, I was a little over weight for my height & I always felt a pressure during the weight loss period to do my exercise & eat healthy & it was like this pressure , it caused a lot of anxiety. Now I'm just maintaining my weight & kinder to myself. It is the pressure of external things Morgan. My motto for this year was to be calm & kind (I am a kind person, I think!) But the last few years my anxiety manifested to be short & snappy with my nearest & dearest. I have also applied to be calm & kind to myself. It starts from within & then it benefits the people in your life.

This video certainly put you to the test, Morgan! I am so proud of you, for facing the struggle head on, even if this video ended up becoming the gem you shared with us now :D Did you totally make me clink my cup with my laptop screen? Absolutely! No better way to start the morning 😂 I can SO relate to the struggle of self-discipline being challenged with book shopping. I set myself the goal to only buy a book a month but oh boy, this is a struggle. I am glad you found a book that is helping you heal and I am sorry to hear you struggle with loving/trusting yourself because you deserve to be treated/judged by yourself as kindly and as lovingly as you treat all those around you. 💞 This month’s book club read is balm for the soul, though! I am alternating it with reading Girl in Pieces (which, while exactly my type of book is /heavy/) and it makes me so happy! Sending you a big hug! Emmi 🥰

When making tea filtered water is better for those of us with anxiety. Tap water has hard minerals which I didnt know until recently actually concentrate more when boiled. That’s what that buildup is in the kettle. But yeah what those hard minerlas do is they pile up in our pineal gland and calcifiy it and our pineal gland is what makes our serotonin. Hope this helps! You inspired me to get the Mountain is you. It's been a crazy winter and March is always a crazy month at work. I have been looking for something to help me keep my head above water. I went through the 1st chapter tonight.

The parts of your video where you brew tea always sets the mood for me because I’ve never watched one of your videos without a cup of tea (and I’ve watched almost every video you’ve made!) and I ALWAYS cheers you, it’s such a wholesome mood boost hehe cheers Mo!

I recommend for anxiety sufferers two book gems by Matt Haig…Notes on a Nervous Planet and The Comfort Book. They are full of great concise relatable messages and ideas on how we can all feel better about being who we are and how we can survive in a world that sometimes feels is being pulled apart. 😊

Thank you. I really need to read that book, what you were saying hits in so many places. I went into a test that I was crazy nervous about. I failed spectacularly and now I can't test again for a year. I am trying to be proud of the fact I tried the test and failed rather than just never trying it. Easier said than done 😂

🥰🥰🥰 You make me want to grab a book! And that's always a good thing! This is totally random but do you ever do stupid stuff? Like stuff where you 100% should have known better. That's my feels tonight so your video was welcomed by me! 🥰 they always cheer me up!

What you said at the beginning of the video was just what I needed to hear. I just started working on a new project and it makes me really anxious so I'm trying to power through it. As always, seeing that there's a new video really cheers me up, they are sooo comforting!! Thank you for going through with it and sharing it with us! I also adore the nature sections in bookshops and libraries 😍✨ What you said regarding your aha moments was very eye-opening for me too, what you "realized" thanks to this book is something I can completely relate to as well. Thank you for being so open and for sharing these things in your videos, it takes a lot of courage to do that. I'm going to read that book too!
