Thanks for the info Chris great video!👍🏽 I currently have AT&T fiber 1 Gbps but looking to have optimal connectivity throughout my house due to it being 2 story. Should I invest in this or the Deco XE200?

I just picked up a ASUS RT-BE96U to replace my ASUS GT-AX11000, because it was throttling overall speed. Would using the AX-11000 as an extender on the 2nd floor give me a better connection, even though it pretty good as it is? Also, is it worth connecting the upstairs PS5 to the AX11000 2.5ghz port. House has a weird layout.

My provider is Vodafone and we are paying for the 100 mbps package but are getting way less, so we thought we should get a router, if we do, what will the speed be?
@naokiins
@naokiins 4 күн бұрын
Basically it will give your devices the same speed but the speed is 100 so it will stay at 100

My main issue seems to stem from me having my virgin hub in modem only mode so that I can use my mesh router system. I have an Asus DSL-AX82U Router and then 2 RT-AX92U, although so far I only have one of those connected up. I know I need to hard wire that to improve it, but where I am noticing slow speeds is my main PC which is LAN to my router and then to Virgin Hub. I am supposed to be getting over 1GB but at best I am hitting 750MB. Every post I have seen is saying it is because I am setting my Hub in Modem only mode. That is correct as I thought in order to get the wifi from my "better" system, this was what I had to do. Now you mentioned Bridge mode?? Is this another name for modem only mode, or is there another way that I can achieve this. Scared to change things at the moment as I remember having all sorts of issues getting my new Virgin (switched from Sky) set up in this way, but would really love to at least get near the broadband speed tests to give everything else on the mesh a fighting chance! I will have to look in to this "bridge" mode to see how I can achieve that

Hey, I have Lan wires running throughout my 2500sq ft apartment, but the walls are half a foot of concrete. Plus, it's crowded with a lot of ffurnitures. As a budget option which of the three i should go for? a) Install a basic dual band router as an access point in each room, with same SSID. Will it have seamless roaming? b) Install a Mesh Network. if (a) doesnt give me sealess roaming. c) Get Wifi 6 router (for good range), and install OneMesh extenders (tp link's propritory codex). Note: One mesh doesn't support wired Back hauling. More importantly if i use my Deco(s) as Access Point, (ISP Modem doesnt support bridge mode), will i be able to take benefit of mesh, or will it be equivalent to (b)?

Hey so I just moved into an rv park with no wifi and my only option for gaming is remote play with my ps5 what would you suggest I do?
@domi69ify
@domi69ify Ай бұрын
Does your rv park have access to cable tv? Then you have access to wifi. If your rv park doesn’t have access to basic infrastructure like coax cable then you might want to rethink your priorities… Nature and working on vehicles are good hobbies in areas like that.

Great video. My country isp provider have the issue of having router in bridge mode. Router used is always in access point mode which I lost all my control. Is there any suggestion on such that I can regain my bridge mode? My present set up is 1 Ap router with 2 mesh. Which I find the speed kind of sluggish. Isp >> router 1 (Ap mode) >>router 2 (bridge mode)???
@ChrisMajestic
@ChrisMajestic 10 ай бұрын
If you can’t completely put your isp router in bridge mode see if you can at least disable the firewall or open it to app traffic.

I threw my ISP router in the bin several years ago, even when I got a new one moving to a new place. Atm I got a Wifi6 Nighthawk (might be RAX 80) so I'm looking for a sleeker looking Wifi7 next year, or at this black friday.

I currently have the att gateway that I believe is a router/modem. How can I get the deco pro 6E tie and mesh system to improve my WiFi signal around missing spots inside my house. Is it a good idea to used the mesh units as access points or as a second router?
@ChrisMajestic
@ChrisMajestic 10 ай бұрын
You have a few options. You can definitely use the Deco 6E. The easiest thing to do is connect the deco to the ATT router. I personally think it's best to put the ATT router in bridge mode and use the Deco as your actual router as opposed to putting the Deco in Access Point mode. Then you can add additional Deco units around the house where you need them.

Thanks for the video. Honestly a video that talks about managing many Wi-Fi connections would be great. What I'm finding out is I have to upgrade our system because we have almost 80 Wi-Fi connecting devices in our house when everything is turned on. And I'm often having to manage devices by turning the Wi-Fi off when they're not being used. I think this is becoming more of a common thing when you have Ring devices, kids phones and Chromebooks, All the little Wi-Fi enabled gadgets that you can use to manage your house. I don't really have a problem with coverage as much as I have a problem with quantity lol. Thanks again for the video

Not clear on Mesh. With a dedicated backhaul, which many provide wirelessly, there is no degradation of speed. WiFi extenders degrade speed. Otherwise, decent information.
@ChrisMajestic
@ChrisMajestic 10 ай бұрын
Although you’re correct, the most popular mesh systems don’t have a dedicated backhaul channel which is why I framed it that way. Dedicated backhaul is usually only found on the more expensive systems.

Great information in this video, I do have a question. You mentioned the downside to having a mesh wifi where the other devices won't receive the full speeds as the main device, now would a powerline adapter be helpful to increase the speeds on the other devices that are spread out around the home?
@ChrisMajestic
@ChrisMajestic 10 ай бұрын
My experience with powerline has only been good with low bandwidth situations. I use powerline to wire 2 cameras but the cameras have a 100mbps connection and use less than 20mbps of actual bandwidth. I probably wouldn’t trust it to do anything more than that. In other words, no I wouldn’t use it as a backhaul connection
