I wasted no time. The new engine is IN, baby! I opted for a 5.0 Aluminator SC with forged internals. This should be fun...

Tons of respect for addressing the brake cleaner. Wish all KZfaq builds would be this way

It's crazy, a lot of terrible dangerous habits are out there on KZfaq. You can tell when someone has respect for what they do when they respect their own safety like they would a strangers safety. Hands down my favorite channel since I started watching.

The looking for engine mounts situation made me laugh, that happens to me all the time. It drives my son nuts, he gets roped in to look for stupidly placed stuff whilst I keep working. Keep only a small marked pot of acetone for cleaning, welding and drums of solvents is a big fire risk. The coach company in town had their workshop burn down because a weld spatter ignited some waste thinners. Fire in a commercial body shop is really scary. Everyone got out safe but it made a big mess.

It takes tremendous personal effort to follow the rules every single time. You are absolutely correct; separate and secure all such flammables, every. single. time. "If only I had" just doesn't make things all better after the fact.

I've been subscribed and following you mainly for the Ferrari build, but have been enjoying the non-Italian car content as well. Skilled fabrication is skilled fabrication. Love this car (and channel). As someone who plays with and builds cars but works professionally in pulmonology, I'd be remiss if I didn't say that a respirator should always be worn when welding. The smoke created from welding is essentially vaporized metal, and it gets deep into your lungs and causes serious damage to them.

Love the quality you're putting into everything! I'm always impressed by your level of detail, dedication, and fabrication despite your relatively small scale operations. That model A is such a bad ass hot/rat rod. Also, on behalf of the people who said something about the brake cleaner, I'm incredibly impressed with your response and reaction. I think that it would be all too easy for you to not address it, or even to say that you know what you're doing and just move on. It shows a lot of your character and I applaud your ethic! It's also an example along with the times that you've shown mistakes on the channel that you don't brush anything under the rug for the sake of appearances. P.s. Any word on swag for the channel? Would love to support you by buying some merch or something.

Brake clean is also explosive- I found out the hard way when welding on a motor in place- used brake clean to clean away the oil on the surface and when I struck the arc an explosion blew me on my butt. The brake clean vapors had built up in the pan and went off like a bomb- it actually blew the front seal out of the timing cover.

I think it's important to note regarding that coolant crossover on the back of the heads, the heat causing issues (which that crossover was made to correct) only seems to be noticeable in drag situations where a car may make a run and then sit idling afterwards waiting for the next run. This is mostly coming from forum guys that have noted excessive CHT in staging after multiple back-to-back runs, which has resulted in wear issues in the back 2 cylinders. As far as guys pushing the engine on the track or other situations where the car isn't seeing much idle time at all, it's practically a nonissue. Most track guys will take a cooldown lap around the pits just to be extra sure.

Mike will make control arms 4 timers in a row till hes happy. Also, I just have a feeling that rob being goofy and you being more stoic might just compliment each other. If you ever want to collab on a Rotary powered car afterwards, I bet you guys could create something truly unique. Anyways, I love the ferrari build. Ps rob has a cosworth indy car and you have a nice aesthetic for reverse engineering/ design/ updating things.
