This marks the first session following Dr. Yeomans’ two-week absence, occurring six months into the therapy. At the outset of this session, Indie appears to be doing relatively well. However, it becomes evident that Indie* has been using cocaine, and somewhat dismisses it as a minor and insignificant slip-up. Dr. Frank Yeomans and Indie are collaboratively working on creating a contract together.
*Indie is an actor, this is part of a demonstration for therapists.

Shout out to the actor not over acting. Shout out to Dr Yeomans for keeping a straight face against that ridiculous wig.

What I love about these videos is that I have to slow them down to normal speed to catch all the nuggets of info and wisdom, because I ordinarily watch most videos at 1.5 speed. I'm grateful that you all are taking the time to make these videos so rich with info (on both sides, client and practitioner).

You can see the defiant circles the patient keeps going around in order to maintain an illusion of control and to avoid any vulnerability and attachment. It is like watching someone quite young. And so painful not to be able to break out of due to the danger of feeling that core pain. I personally doubt he got very far with the therapy but i hope he did.

Why does Dr. Yeomans impose on his patient that he cut the drugs ratther than maybe spend several sessions to work out the problematic together? Personally as an NPD, I would hod a grudge against Dr Yeomans for asking me to agree on the spot.

I am not sure eithet, but it could be that TFP as a modality is very focussed on NPD and not a suitable treatment modality for addictions.

@@Rimatio Indeed, which means that addiction is not the problem.
