In this snippet of a video, Remco van der Wijngaart validates the unmet needs of the patient (Anne*) in an imagery rescripting exercise in order to provide a corrective emotional experience. This experience is then consolidated with the use of an audio flashcard.

I am also in schema therapy in holland. I am so happy living in a country where health insurance covers this with almost no cost ( unlike some western countries ).. This kind of therapy is key for certain CPTSD patients with heavy coping patterns. Almost all of the mental health workers in holland are very motivated to REALLY help you. The actress was also very good, the supressed emotional chaos that you can see in her movements was a really realistic touch.

Hi. Thank you for this Psyflix video series. As a therapist, I have found it very helpful. In this particular video with the imagery rescripting, I wonder if it would be possible to restructure this to work with a client with aphantasia (one who cannot form mental images). I have this congenital neurodivergence and wonder if the language of the schema therapy could be altered to "imagine" concepts and scenarios, but not to ask the client to "picture" them.
