Currently work in a Call Centre. Accurate. Very accurate. It hurts. The whole sketch. Some of the people who call in...they amaze me but at the same time I've become accustomed to how insufferable it can be. Empathy is number one, unfortunately I lack that in sufficient amounts and would much rather just come up with a reasonable way to solve an issue which doesn't always seem to be enough anyways.

The real secret is - They knew it was his birthday ... And they bought play techs birthday forward 4 months just to troll him , the delivery wasnt even real , they just grabbed a usb stick and put an address on it and basically gifted it to a random person just to make him deliver it .

Well, Hamish wasn't there to scam, Rowan was just obtusely blind. I'm surprised that for once, Hamish actually lucked out for a change as usually he's the one getting scammed by Rowan. So, that 50% discount for $900 wasn't really a discount, more like a store credit deduction for the multiple times he's severely overpaid PlayTech for previous purchases. It still hasn't balanced out yet in Hamish's favor by several grand.

I've done this job for many different companies, it's far too accurate. With time and dedication I have figured out the hack for the three rules (whilst still perfectly obeying them). Agree with the customer, tell them the company is garbage and that their rules system doesn't allow you to co-operate with them or provide a decent service. Explain that they should write a terrible review for the company and never shop there again. Did this on my last week in a callcentre, was the most rewarding week in a customer service job I've ever had. Not one single bad call for the whole week

It gave me PTSD from my old call center job.

I can't imagine having to do that for a living. I always try to be nice to call center employees. Even if I have a problem with the company, it's not the poor call center employee's fault.

Used to work at call centre too in my youth. We got the term for customers like that: people who wants to eat our brains. Though there are bright moment sometimes when our floor manager interrupt us when we were asked to escalate when they identified the caller are customers are blacklisted by the company as cheats or scammers. Fun to see how the upper management reverse the treatment upon them and sometimes seeing our floor manager say the call is over and slam the phone...you are allowed to be rude to confirmed criminals.
