@@freestang6662big difference is Philly had Billy keeping all his business going, and Phil really didn’t steal other people’s territory for himself. The only real instances of him going after someone else’s earnings are 1. With Lorraine Colluzo, who was kicking up to the wrong guy, and 2. Hesh and his son in law, who Phil didn’t get the memo on them having the approval to run a shy in that area. Even then, after a fuckup like that Phil ponied up the agreed upon compensation to Hesh, which nobody else ever really did.

There’s a great interview with him about life on the streets, probably takes place 20 years before the show. His voice is not as affected and over the top like it is on the show. He had some great stories, talks about the first guy he ever seriously attacked, around the time he was 19-20... he basically says he was an animal, and not in a good way, not bragging, but more like he’s a little ashamed that he couldn’t control himself. Should be easy to find if you’re interested.

It's one of the most heinous acts in the entire show, and it's absolutely hilarious. They throw a brick at a hard-working stiff. It's a spin on a classic line by Winston Churchill. I perhaps paraphrase somewhat here, but at a party, when arguing with a crotchety old woman, she accused him of being drunk, to which he retorted, "Yes, and you're ugly but tomorrow morning I'll be sober". You might want to keep that one in your quiver also.
