The 18V Milwaukee driver brake gave out early on so I took it to a local Milwaukee repair store selling Milwaukee and linked to factory repair. I did not know they were sending a skid full of repair tools south of Chicago for repair and consequently their quoted time for repair was a week late. The 18V came in and they had dumped all the tools into a larger corrugated skid size box with only a repair tag attached. My 18V tool was almost new and looked like Hell as it had been dumped into the pile and was dented and scratched. The chuck was all scratched.

I bought the Bosch Impact 4-5 years ago to use occasionally around the house. It was a combo with the drill, 2 batteries and charger in a nice case. I charged both batteries up back then and to my surprise both are still holding that original charge. In the past I've had batteries crap out after 6 months or so. The Bosch has never let me down and it has seen some use over the years. This thing really surprised me with how good it is, especially since the kit was under $100.

There are still times that I have to be connected to that big 1/2" inner diameter air hose.

The only tool that most people DO NOT need in 18v in the impact driver, I use milwaukee and bosch 18v tools, but the tool that I use the most is my 12v bosch brushless impact driver, if you do lots of 3 inch screws or larger then get an 18v, but if 95% of the time you only use 2½ screws or smaller, then a 12v is great and much lighter than the 18v

Man before i got my 18v ridgid combo i had a bnd 20v impact and 20v Bauer drill.. They're used as backups and I am glad to be on Ridgid 18v for tools like the circ saw and impact wrench however initially i was going to get ridgids 12v combo but my brushed gen4x ridgid combo was the same price.. I wish i could ditch my bnd and bauer backups and get a 12v combo. Then I see multiple of the same tools by diff brands by tool channels and think maybe a 12v combo isnt soo bad. Id have 3 drills and impacts but as diyer it is quite redundant.. I am really trying to find a justification haha.. I like the ridgid over the others becaue you get a 2 and 4ah battery vs 2 1.5s wit most other brands. I realy havent found a direct need for the size and weight difference and I do have. A dewalt right angle attachment, I went through a similar phase with firearms and ammo a long time ago.

In short. Torpedo style is better in tight spaces cars. Ducts, random places you need to add a screw. Add Milwaukee’s slightly angled build and it rocks but if just drilling or driving with no obstacles the Makita dewalt style is better.

I bought the Bosch 12v combo about 5 or 6 years ago to replace an 18v Rigid that stripped its gears or something driving lags. The little Bosch finished that job and many many more. I just wish they had belt hooks like the now ones. I inherited a new 12v Rigid that I only got to use a couple times before the switch or the motor failed. My dad had passed and I couldn't access the warranty, so it went in the trash just like the other Rigid--chargers and everything. I'll stick with Bosch and Makita for now.

agreed. I have done more damage to things with 18v than I care to admit. Overdriving screws, stripping bolts, not the tools fault but sometimes even at the lowest setting it’s too much. You don’t need m18 to put IKEA furniture together. Hell unless you are doing multiples or heavy lags etc, 12v cut’s it. 12v today is same and probably more powerful than 18v/20v 10years ago. My father in laws top of the line craftsman drill just crapped out after a lot of use. The m12 were equal to it in power, the m12 fuel we’re better so definitely a long way in a short time

You use the word collet and pronounce the word as if it were spelled callet; it is not. If you are going to review tools I would take down giant posters in the background that are not the tool of interest pertaining to your video.

Right, the Bosch PS41 came out around 2014-2015 so it's at least as old as the other impact from the Chinese owned brand lol.
