I've tried both, and went with the Bose. The deciding factor for me was the soft touch finish on the Sony... it shows finger prints and oils much easier than the harder plastic finish on the Bose. Both are great headphones; you can't go wrong with either.

I bought both and sent back the Sony's. It was not that clear cut of choice, and I make this statement as to not which models are better, but which model suited me personally. For one, I loved some of the features on the Sony. My kids / wife start talking to me, I cup a hand over and all the noise cancelling drops out and it pipes in the audio. I also really like how it could power off when I took them off, but this was also a bit of pain in a way. I might take the headphones off for whatever reason (someone at the door) and then put them back on. I then need to long press and wait for the device to connect again. The other key aspect was comfort. I played rugby and my ears are duffed up like a wrestlers and the Sony's cup inners would press against the ear. I don't have this issue with the QC 45's. I can wear them all day and not get that feeling of wanting a physical break like I get with the Sony's. I find the bose are less closed in in regards to the audioscape, the Bose feel more airy and open compared to the Sony's, which I really like. It was not a clear cut for me, as said, I love some of the features of the Sony's, but in the end I went with the Bose. If someone could combine the Bose comfort and the feel of the audioscape, with the features of the Sony, they would have a hands down clear winner. I love QCs. I won't use the majority of Sonys features and comfort is a priority. In addition, I have experienced a bad connection (even with SBC) while using the XM4s and I don't care about EQ absence on Bose. I use Poweramp as Flac player, it has its own equalizer. You just have done a nice comparison and I like how you say "you", seems like a conversation!

I am surprised by the level of quality you've put into your videos. If you are not going to be the next successful tech youtuber... I don't know who will.

I went for the Bose because the ANC had no extra noise on the Bose but on the Sony you could hear the anc system working

For people with ears that stick out, the XM4’s are a nightmare to use, because your ears will touch the inner lining of the ear pads. After a while, your ears will definitely be hot and sore. The QC45’s ear cups are significantly deeper and more comfortable.

Comfort, heat management, buttons (especially if you live in a cold country where you have to wear gloves for months), decent sound quality for the average listener. It’s all subjective but Bose is a winner in my book.

Idk why I’m watching this after I’ve already bought the QC45. But I was confused between the two for the longest time. Eventually went with Bose as I mainly use them for work, and I need the noise cancellation and the comfort to wear it for longer durations. This review further makes me think I made the right decision for myself (the Sony is great too!) I was listening on the JBL tune 770NC hehe, I loved these but hopefully I’m gonna upgrade from that!

I already purchased the Bose headphones, but after watching this review, I would have purchased the SONY headphones. The sound quality seemed better, and I like the swipe controls feature! But overall, I think they are both great purchase, thank you for the thorough review!

I went with for the XM4...I dont like the "BOSE' on the side. I really liked the "Silver" Beige XM4 headphones. I like them but I used them mostly in the house so far. I do have and connection issues switching between devices and the call quality isnt as good as my air pods. For music, and video they sound great! And the little extra features are convenient. In the end I really preferred the look over the Bose. It really does depend what is most important to you if two products are top in their class.Visual esthetic will always edge out a product comparison for me.

Some say there's too little bass on the qc45.. What are you even talking about? It's maybe even a little too much! HIGHLY recommend the qc45's. Bought them after a year of whxm4 use. Fantastic! Just don't sleep in them, you'll wreck the padding which worsens the audio and noise cancellation and eventually the audio will be unbalanced on one side. Had this happen with the qc35II's.

i got bose qc 45 and will return them. they were hurting top of my head so bad and ANC is good but white noise NEVER turns off. i have used srhythm nc35 and it is so much better in every way. what should i get? the square shape headband hurts my head so so so bad i had to take pain killer

Listened to this on my wife’s QC35’s which I really like. I usually use AirPod Pro’s but want to get some over the hear headphones to go with them. Really surprised at how bad the Sony’s noise cancellation was.

The only thing i wanna add is for glasses wearing folks like me, the Bose QC45 are very comfortable but i haven't tried the Sony's.

Got the QC45ii after my QC35 got stolen. I am on my 5th day of using them. Right now other than the sound and the bass being pulled back. I would say that the QC35 are still better than the QC45ii. IMO. Great review also

My xm4 slipped off my head and fell on a sment floor, and they brock, and I found my ears were very sweaty all the time. I love the sound, thank God I got extended worenty bo I ordered bose 45 so I hope 🙏 there going to stay on my head better and my ears don't get sooo hot .

I tried Sony and Bose. Bose is just way more comfortable. I hate accidental touches on Sony, connection issues are real. I don't know why. So Bose is for me. Also Bose is way more comfortable.

Hi I've had the Bose for a few weeks and i like it exept the cabin pressure that makes my head hurt after 2 minutes on. I thought it as due to the fact that you can't deactivate NC or aware mode. in the Bose and Sony are really quiet but if you listen close enough you can hear random tingling sounds on sony

I own the XM4s and yesterday i was testing the QC45 .... NC is IMO AT the same Level an for the rest, the XM4 is a lot bester than the QC45.

About the ANC finger snapping issue, I don’t know but I own the QC45s and I use the subway every other day or so and it’s not the most quiet subways either, it’s pretty loud and crazy and I swear to God that the finger snapping thing does not happen on the QC45s, they never hopped or popped or what I can hear in your test. It might be because the QC45s got an update to their ANC performance back in February and I never got to use the QC45s before the update so I don’t know how it was before but it never happened to me.

Can the bass be raised in the app for the bose 45's ? And if you can do another comparison in sound but raise the volumn to match the sony level, yes i understand the volumn setting will be set higher to equal the same level

So Santa errrrrr I mean my wife is making sure a pair of the 45s are under the tree. I travel a lot and I am making the upgrade from the beats solo 3s. Our local Walmart had a pair of the 35s and 700s on display. So I took a Clorox wipe and tried them both out. My question is… does having them plugged up bypass the noise-canceling? I’m asking because no matter what I did I couldn’t get the noise canceling to work. I am a technology trainer for the blind so I feel like I at least know a thing or two about getting Technology to work. I even brought up the manual and followed the directions exactly as printed. By the way, they sounded good just didn't blackout much sound.

Have you tried poweramp? To adjust the eq of bass and compare them using the app on samsung ? You don't need to make video about it but let us know hows the base without using bose music or sony headphones app but only poweramp and adjust the eq there..

QC45 aren't wind resistance like the QC35 ii, which sucks. Hopefully, that comes with a firmware update.

Probably the most useless sound test ever but that being said, my choice goes to the Bose QC45 hands down. First of all, I own the QC35 II and the sound feels familiar yet a bit more detailed (raised clarity) on the QC45. But the main reason I choose the Bose over the Sony is because of the airiness of the sound. I feel the sound of the Sony is that typical closed-back sound and not spacious at all. That is probably why the bass sounds way more into your face compared to the Bose. Not saying the Bose lacks base, by far not but because the sound having a more breathable feeling to it that bass is more smooth and functional. I was actually quite disappointed in the Sony while listening to them head to head. I tested them a few days ago and only used the music I often listen to which is on Spotify and SoundCloud. The Sony might sound more impressive if used with LDAC but I did not test it as I not have any music (and actually no need for it as I am not an audiophile). For typical use, regardless of all the bells and whistles the Sony might offer, the sound of the Bose is much more enjoyable than the Sony so I know I will be sticking to Bose and get me the QC45

Hi! Quick question, can the xm4's handle a little bit of rain or nothing at all? Sony says not to use them in the rain, but my JBL's also aren't waterproof and I haven't had any issues with them.
