Hi Pete. I played using airplay 2 with sonos arc 5.1.2 / Devialet Phantom silver stereo speakers. Slightly increased the volume up is phantom for the thumping bass and increase the treble in sonos Sound is perfectly synchronized and the sound separation is mind blowing!!! Definitely you need to try it !!!

Fantastic review and am now patiently awaiting your Beam 2 v Bose 600 showdown to make my purchase (just like many others here!). Please include a standalone soundbar testing and also a soundbar + subwoofer winner. How does this sound bar sound with regular 5.1 channel audio. Most content online are not atmos compatible. What do upward firing woofers do with 5.1 sound input.

How do you think the immersiveness compares to the klipsch cinema 800 3.1. It is missing the height speakers but comes with a sub...specifically talking to movies, not music.

I am considering this for a pc setup: bose 600 + bass module 500 or the sonos beam gen 2 + sub mini. Gaming, music and movies would be used. Of the two which is more recommended? Would trueplay from the Sonos be able to be used to improve sound quality during setup (assuming I understand everything) or is bose truespace better?

i got the bose 600 today. i am happy with the crisp clear sound but the bass is definitely missing. my living room is only 350 sq ft but cannot feel the bass. i am not a bass addict ok but its really not there at all. you need a bose module 500, its a must. i think i will keep it. at least i am happy with the clarity not the muffled voice from bass powered jbl or sony with same price range.

I have a question for Mr technical. The Sonos beam for example support Dolby Atmos, but doesn’t have upward firing speakers what is important for the effect. The Yamaha 109 doesn’t support Dolby Atmos, but has DTSX upward firing speakers (you can even lift the back a little up for a better surround effect). So I was wondering if you play Dolby Atmos to both soundbars what gives the best Dolby Atmos experience/ result? I’m aware the Yamaha can’t decode Dolby Atmos, but you still hear a surround effect with upward firing speakers. What are your thoughts on this?

Thank you for a review! What are you thoughts on using this as a desktop speaker? I'm currently using LG C2 42" as my monitor and would love to upgrade and get a quality sound upgrade. While I think Bose 600 is a great sounbar I am not sure how good it will be when I'm sitting very close to it.

in my semi sleeper bunkI have the 42-in LG C2, Bose 600 mounted underneath TV and the Bose 500 sub under the bed and it is awesome. I'm about 5 ft away in a small enclosure And I wouldn't change.

You can't pair the Klipsch sub to the Bose Soundbar 600 unfortunately.

There is another OREI device that can possibly do it but the problem is that the HDA-939 cannot output to the soundbar using HDMI ARC, I am still trying to figure it out.

researching and holding up on a sound bar purchase 😅 now it boils down to bose600 + bass500 (optional) or the sonos beam gen2 + sub mini (optional). read n viewed a lot of reviews on the bass output for the bars alone, sonos beam does it better. But if get a set, the bose is relatively cheaper But if you were to choose, which you prefer? sonos or bose 🤔

Sound wise, the HTA-5000 is going to sound better and louder, more spacious and bigger. But we are comparing across price brackets though.

Tough question to get a definite answer. Surround wise, the Sonos Arc does better. But you have to really note that the price difference is quite substantial. This is more of a Sonos Beam Gen 2 comparison.

I can't tell for very certain. I don't have the Samsung for testing. I have only demoed it in the store (a few times) and I can't do AB testing there.

I'd thought I'd take a dive into dolby atmos for the first time and got this. Very disappointed in the dolby atmos side of it. So I went back to my high-quality stereo speakers as they are superior. Dolby atmos marketing is over hyped.

The app/software works... but it's basic. Doesn't do much but it allows adjustment of center channel!

The 600 soundbar worked fine with my wired subwoofer. Unplugged the cable to clean behind the TV and the subwoofer volume "tab" on the Bose app and the subwoofer no longer functioned. There is NO WAY to contact Bose to speak to a rep to fix this problem. Bose customer service is the absolute WORST!

I have the Sonos ARC + Sub and the Bose 900 + Sub I like more the Bose 900 + Sub The Bose 900 + Sub is more cinema than Sonos ARC + Sub but The Bose 900 + Sub has not all the Gimmicks That Sonos App and Product has. The Bose 900 + Sub is more for Cinema and not for music. I am hyped that you to have now a Bose Soundbar + - Sub :D 💪

I love that a large chunk of this review is about a sound absorption product haha, I guess there isn't enough actual decent engineering to talk about with the Bose? Paid for advertising channel? I've been installing AV for 20+ years and Bose is probably my least favourite brand of all time (other than the 'cheap n cheerful' Samsung/LG/Wharfdale/... etc consumer centric brands). Overpriced, sounds average, integrates terribly, useless software. I've taken out many many Bose systems in my time but never have I ever taken out a Sonos system. AND im not getting paid for this ;) True. Still love your channel though, great energy and enthusiasm, keep it up x
