THIS IS WHAT I MIGHT NEED. I just bought the limited edition on the JD XI ( RED ) and don't really like the overdub, recording feature on it. I need something that I can lay down longer compositions with. My question is this ? How many layers can you use and how does the memory work for exporting if it's possible ? Thanks
@ertybeats5 жыл бұрын
It can make layers almost infinite, from 10-12 layers it starts to hear badly. I am a beatboxer and I still think that the rc - 505 and the 202 did it for the beatboxers. If you want to buy a loopstation so powerful to only make loops, I do not recommend it, but if you know how to make a beatbox and use it with a mic, it may be fine.

I’m considering a looper. I need something with MIDI so that I can incorporate my bass playing alongside my Dawless jams. I’ve been looking at either the EHX 1440, or one of these rc 202s. What are people saying about the pros and cons of these 2, or have any other loop pedals with Midid capabilities that they’d recommend looking at? Cheers.

are the drum sounds integrated into the loop station or they come from the Roland/from external samples?
@xMDD220697x4 жыл бұрын
and, if they are from the loop station, are they good? I play synths and I'm looking for an easier and more direct way then Ableton to do music also cause I don't like to use a software during the creative process. Is something like this a good choice?

this is probably a dumb question but what output on the JP08 is being plugged into what input on the RC202?
@TwoGunToast4 жыл бұрын
I just basically asked the same thing in a comment and seeing a lack of response to you, I'm not hopeful for an answer
@Frankalized4 жыл бұрын
@@TwoGunToast I didn't get an answer either and I'm by no means an expert but I think there is a 1/8" to dual 1/4" cable going from the JP08's output to the RC202's inputs. I think I was a little thrown off by the 202's headphone jack and outputs being occupied. Hope this helps!
@tylon29993 жыл бұрын
Why do people do tutorials if they aren't going to answer questions?
@asleeds3 жыл бұрын
It is connected by a 3.5mm jack from the JP08 to two 1/4” (left and right) inputs on the back of the RC202. There is actually a 3.5mm stereo AUX input on the front of the RC202 so you can simply use a 3.5mm stereo jack cable from the Output of the JP08 to the AUX input on the front of the RC202. That is how I connect to it. I have multiple Boutiques controlled by an Arturia Keystep connected to the RC202 through a 3.5mm jack splitter. I simply change the MIDI channel on the Keystep to record the different synths into the RC202.

This is probably an incredibly dumb question but every tutorial I look up assumes the watcher has a certain level of knowledge already and I need to know. The 202 and keyboard are not directly connected to each other from what I see so they're interacting together through a DAW right? How do you get the 202 to recognize that the keyboard is playing and allow it to pick up on it? I, in particular, have a keyboard with no built in sounds so it relies on the DAW to for sounds. What I see in this video is it's essentially going from the keyboard to the DAW, to the 202 and then back to the DAW as a looped sound. I'm most likely wrong but literally not a single video or forum I could find covers this basic set up information of how to get instruments to interact with the loop station through a DAW without plugging directly into it. I have never used USB instruments and devices before for music and have nobody in my life I can just ask about it. I hope this all makes sense and please know how I dumb I feel walking blindly into this shit.
@TwoGunToast4 жыл бұрын
@Sènevè Mwadi I did however find a small piece of knowledge,. If your midi piano/midi pad etc has a Headphone jack get an Aux cable and go from the headphone to the aux input on the 202, even with loaded sounds from the DAW the loop station should pick it up just fine when you play. As for how thatll feed from the Loop Station to the DAW for a final sound recording I'm unsure of yet.

I need to know how they have this set up. I see both input and outputs but no midi. And the synth only has a midi. Audio interface? Mixer?
@MikeRenouf2 жыл бұрын
In this demo the synth and looper are not midi-synched. The length of the first loop he recorded (in time with the 202's inbuilt rhythm track) effectively sets the tempo of the tune, and all subsequent loops are the same length.
@aki_gong62718 ай бұрын
Can the rhythm track use preset users patterns from a computer?
@shazzbutter4 жыл бұрын
1) Can the length be changed after a loop is recorded? Like can I stretch a 4-bar loop to an 8-bar loop? If so does it have the option to preserve pitch? 2) Can the pitch be changed? Standard function for samplers, yet I've yet to see this demonstrated in an RC-505 vid.
