I appreciate the honesty of "mistakes were made." Screwing the first sheet of 3/4" ply to the wall and then glueing the 1/2" sheet to it thereby hiding the first set of screws is something I could see myself doing. Glad I can learn about "things to think about" before jumping into my projects, even if it's not something exactly the same.

Perhaps you could locate the screws in the 3/4" piece with magnets, then use a hole saw (large enough to offset it & not hit the screw with the central bit) to cut away the 1/2" layer above it, hopefully not needing to do too much prying/chiseling to get the circles out..?

Nice. I’d did something similar adding two swing doors that were k- mart steel framed peg board displays. Stepped it away from cabinet with 2x4 on hing side. Has worked out great they came with adjustable shelves as well. So now I have a handy clamp racks with short pegs on the inside for most used hand tools along with harbor freight mag strips. Opened up I have full access to my shelves full of hard ware on one and power tools on the other. Even made a small job site type pace with a light and shallow shelves for nail gun nails and my pocket hole and screws. It has saved me endless steps on projects and tickled me very time I use the wood shop area. Great vid brother.

Great build. I built my clamp rack out of pallet wood. My only pallet wood project. BTW I saw what you did at 3:05. Flicked the offcut out of the way with your thumb. I did that too until about a week ago. In a moment of inattention I flicked a little too soon and flicked the saw blade. I probably would have been a lot less painful with a SawStop, but it will get well in a month or two. Don't do as I did.

With a green screen it is a good idea to light yourself from the back with a rim light (colored if you want to be fancy) that cuts out the green cast from the back and helps you stand out better when you superimpose yourself on another video. Makes it look all professional and a little less flat.

Great Vid! Love the green screen idea. I've been considering building a bar cabinet for a little while with a mini fridge for beer and chasers (have 60-70 spirits bottles in my kitchen cabinets right now). I've always been worried about the piano hinge not being strong enough to hold the door with many bottles in it: so I loved your caster wheel idea, just thought it wasnt really good looking, and then you hid it! Nice touch, will definitely use this for my build. Love the content!

look at 19:42 the wheel isn't touching the concrete. so the hinge is taking the brunt of the weight when he swing it open all the way.

5:10 "So I decided to plop another piece of half-inch ply on top of my three-quarter-inch ply to bring the full thickness out to about $350". That's how I feel every time I think about any project these days. It's depressing.

I showed this to my wife and she said, "Why would you want a big cabinet like that? You don't have many clamps". I said, "I know." Then, it hit her...I wanted to build one to buy more clamps. She gave me that look that told me I was just fantasizing and there would be no way she'd let me buy enough clamps to fill a cabinet like that, so no need to build it. Now, I'm sad. Thanks a lot, Jason...LOL

I could see light under the caster when the front shelf was fully open. 🤔 * I was fully expecting the youngest to not want to do the painting so he got you to do the painting (just to come around full circle). 😂 * Missed pun opportunity not calling the hard maple "rock maple" with all your mentions of building it "rock solid". 🤣 As always, a fun and funny build video!

This was one of my favorite episodes. That cabinet is *so* versatile in so many areas of the home, I can’t stand it. While I am in no way qualified to comment, I do have a small suggestion…. In keeping of the theme of it being a secret storage cabinet, might I suggest using magnets along the edge and then installing two very slender finger tabs at some point that you can just kind of click to open. I believe the latch is too revealing of the glorious clamp storage which you created within. Also, LOVE the green screen, can.not. wait to see what you do with it.
