On Wednesday 20 March, on the occasion of the Grands Jours de Bourgogne, representatives of the wine sector gathered for a press conference to review the latest news.
After welcoming the journalists, RAPHAEL DUBOIS, President of the Grands Jours de Bourgogne, presented the first results of this 17th edition.
FRANÇOIS LABET, Delegate President of the BIVB, began by talking about the upstream market, buoyed by the excellent 2023 vintage, with stocks virtually replenished. Taking over after Laurent Delaunay, he presented the first results of the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne and the highlights of the 2024 season.
LARENT DELAUNAY, President of the BIVB, gave an economic review of 2023 and outlined the outlook for 2024. He then spoke about the Objectif Climat plan for the Bourgogne wine sector, which aims to be carbon neutral by 2035 and is equipping itself with the WinePilot tool to achieve this.
Please note a small correction on the volumes of the 2023 vintage announced at 7:40 of the video. If the volume harvested is indeed almost 1.9 million hectolitres, the number of bottles is as follows:
Total: 253 million 75cl bottles, broken down as follows:
- White wines: just over 149.6 million bottles
- Red and rosé wines: just over 69.9 million bottles
- Crémant de Bourgogne: almost 33.8 million bottles
