Big Jim I gotta say, from watching how you make each bow with the amount of work and even love that goes into building your bows they look awesome. One day I hope to be able to purchase one of your fine master piece bows, I bet shooting one is amazing!

Hey Brother I've met you many times talk to you many times especially at Cloverdale and Compton I have not been in a couple years. but I have to apologize finding your booth many time like I said I knew you made bows but I did not know you made really really awesome bows. I wish I had taken the time to really look and shoot one of your bows like I said I have not really been to any events in a couple of years some medical issues. when these issues are resolved I hope I can see you again and Shake Your Hand and give you respect that you deserve. you are a really talented individual

I got to try the 3 piece Buffalo at Big Jim's shoot, I shot six arrows in a inch-and-a-half group from 20 yards. I did the same with the Thunder child and I like big Jim have a 32-inch draw. His bows are fantastic. One day I will have a two-piece Buffalo!

Barry Bennett, I would say that you could learn to shoot most any traditional bow in that situation, many do. Having said that, a shorter bow such as the Thunder child is well suited for confined spaces. BigJim

thank you, ....the advantage to the narrow shelf is so to have clearance for the arrow if it were to happen to come by a little off course. we don't want the arrow traveling that low, but we aren't machines and sometimes things just happen.

I remember from my time at Tradgang around 10 years ago, Big Jims were the thing! Glad to see they still are! Only read good reviews on these, and I still plan to get a TD Thunderchild in dalmation ebony some time!

beautiful looking bows! really nice.... shot a recurve for years hunting, did good, but when the those bows with the cams came along,, I started losing a bit and having to buy all the beer, shooting hunting bows.. switched and shot a bunch that way too! great workmanship and a lifetime of skill there! good luck going forward!

Which bow do you prefer? Do most feel the thunderchild stack a little more than the longer buffalo? I have a Martin Savannah 55# which is fairly heavy so it do feel like it’s getting tight at full draw. I’d like to try the same bow in a lighter poundage, or longer length. However I really admire the short bows and radical look to the thunderchild when unstrung. It would be a nice bush bow for moose. I saw somewhere the wait time is 14 months? The bows look amazing.

Hi Big Jim I send a message to you last week just asking prices. I am from South Africa and never shot a bow before. I would have liked to build my own but obviosly do not have all the equipment. How much would a recurve bow cost and how would somebody that want to start in this sport know what length and pull weight to get. Do you think it will cost cheaper to buy a starter setup with arrows ext than to build one yourself?

Looking for a takedown bow to have in my BOB, one that can handle cold and hard weather.. your bows truly looks amazing.. but i dont know if a wooden bow is the way to go for me... Living in Sweden and it gets quite cold in the winter.. i wonder how the material would reacts to beeing out in a rucksack for days in a row during a cold winter...
