Why do people always think that they are peaceful creatures that are scared of humans? Plenty of people gp missing in the bush never to be found. The yowie could have walked away , but decided to attack.

Its an interesting point you make Cornish Family. While we have many sighting reports where the creatures are seen in the distance without any further interaction we also have a large number of reports that describe aggressive behaviour when there is closer contact. We dont know whay this occurs, it could be a territorial reaction in relation to its feeding grounds, it could be a reaction to protecting its own kind/family. No one really knows but its safe to say that many close encounters do have aggressive behaviour and should be avoided, particularly if alone.

Yowie came close to my camp the other night. It exhaled this huge burst of air which sounded like a cattle beast just from the sound . That's it. Just a big loud exhale from 25 ft away. My torch was no good and I think that's why it came so close. Was near Georges lake in Tassie. There's no way it was a cow cause the terrain was too rough. No adult would do that.

Your missing people are not yowie related. The hunter went into the yowie domain. Yowie/sasquatch etc know your emotions long before you saw them. These confrontations happen because people are ignorant/scared and stupid, big ego hunters need to stay out of the Bush until they learn it.

Instead of shooting it with an arrow he should of got his camera phone out and I bet the yowie would of disappeared instantly. Remember yowies are extremely scared of cameras.

Great, so now there's a really pissed off yowie who's been tainted against humans. They are timid and rarely seen for a reason - it could have had young nearby and wanted to protect it's own Anyone who hunts pigs with just a bow and arrow is plainly a risk-taker who should be prepared for the fact that a big bore could tear his sack out with a shake of it's head.

What else do you expect the guy to have done? I don't think anyone else can comment unless they have met one of these things face to face. It seems sheer terror is a common reaction, so much to the point of losing all bladder control. So I don't think anyone can judge.
@ix-Xafra
@ix-Xafra 2 жыл бұрын
@@MrGutfeeling well he could have addressed the yowie in nongender specific terms so as not to assume socially constructed stereotypes as to all yowies being male purely by patriarchal projection of rape fantasy domination. More seriously, the bowhunter needs something more leathal and easier to weild. A good calibre sidearm might ensure that he could not leave an injured animal to suffer. I almost came face to face with what I now think to be an old sickly yowie near the water treatment works at Mt. Crosby when I was homeless, living in my car. It had tried to warn me off another spot nearby by pissing all over a council picnic shelter. Grew up on property and killed a few things, never smelled anything like that territory marker scent - never!!

@@ix-Xafra your first paragraph is so ridiculous and untrue its actually difficult to rebut. Are you being sarcastic? Do you really think gender is a social construct derived from a "rape fantasy domination" mindset? People can identify however they like to, but comments like this are polarising and frankly you yourself are promoting a radicalised perception of reality. You are inflating and isolating characteristics of certain individuals and speaking Asif, it is the foundation upon which the existence of gender - and use of language is defined. I never hear people calling out people who identify as female for things like this. He assumed it was a male, most likely from its build and cadence, assuming he grew up on planet earth, he probably subconsciously identified an unknown creature with gender due to a few things. Its physical build (8ft, large muscular build, its demeanour, aggressive, far far more stereotypical in men than women.) All historically masculine traits. At what point do you think a (implied) male, domination rape fantasy played into his intrinsic survival instinct of identifying if what he saw was a threat (male) or not. Because that (or possible mating opportunity), is the only reason for gender identification in a fight or flight situation. Logically your lizard brain is going to take priority over some learned patriarchal behaviour in said situation.

Thanks for the comment SadChimp. We always ask the witnesses to put as much detail in their description of what happened as possible but we dont coach them as we want their interpretation of what they saw not what we want to hear and sometimes some of the details they think are relevant or interesting may not be to readers or viewers. In our conversations with Clint he did tell us about the size of the Yowie and estimated it to be "about 4ft wide at its shoulders" and "about 9ft tall once its was fully upright". Cheers, Susan

I thought the bit about the 2nd arrow shot just missing the Yowie was so over-the-top. Gold logie award for that tad bit extra information. Anyone claiming to have scored Yowie DNA yet? Since it was hit by an arrow in the right shoulder, could have been a chance to scoop up some fresh Yowie blood. Later on; after he changed his pants. I wonder where the broken arrow got to? Maybe the Yowie took that home as a souvenir? This one just had too many beers that night but I'm sure his story does the rounds at the local pub; just to keep the tourist for another beer.

Hi Ian and thanks for the comment. You make a very good point. We did look for blood samples when we researched the site but didn't find anything, possibly due to the time between when the encounter happened and when we got out there. There is quite a bit of effort going into voluntary researching these creatures but to date all any of us have is very good trace evidence. We are continuing the effort to get better information about the Yowie and are very appreciative of the people that come forward to share their experiences with us.

@Yowie-Sightings
@Yowie-Sightings 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Philip, thanks for the comment. There is no absolute proof that the Yowie has taken, killed or eaten people but there is anecdotal evidence through indigenous stories of them taking women and children. There are also witness reports of aggressive behaviour such as bluff charging, stalking etc. While they don't seem to be intent on humans as prey we strongly advise people that encounter the Yowie to move away from the area in a controlled deliberate fashion and not run as this seems to trigger a chase response.
@philipthomas3938

@@Yowie-Sightings "chase response" ???? They run after people? Some Aboriginals say they won't bother you if you don't bother them... whatever exactly that means... others say good ones will avoid you but bad ones will eat you... the usual semi comprehensible smattering of opinion... what stops them from overpowering, killing, eating etc a lone unarmed person camping out in the bush? Fear of discovery and retaliation? No other animal species has glowing eyes let alone the other otherworldly aspects often ascribed to them .. perhaps anything's possible... reports of people talking to them both civilians and military type personnel... hope I don't get bothered while out camping in areas where sightings plotted and missing persons disappeared

We didnt find the snapped arrow but we did find the flectching of an arrow at the site and we retrieved the guys binoculars. Interestingly we found several pig carcasses as we searched through the bush for several hours and two of them looked as if they had been torn apart with the legs torn clean out of the sockets. We are doing more surveillance in this area soon.

@Yowie-Sightings
@Yowie-Sightings 2 жыл бұрын
@@4x4andfishing we could have definitely done this but unfortunately, our guide found it first and had handled it which meant it had contaminated dna if there did happen to be any from the yowie present. A good lesson for others that may find Yowie evidence. Samples need to be handled with sterile gloves and stored in sterile containers or envelopes. In fact, anything used to move a sample must be sterile and even breathing on a sample can contaminate a sample. There have been cases in America where claims have been made that Bigfoot dna has been found giving certain conclusions about the origins of the creatures only to find the samples had been accidentally contaminated with human dna. Thanks for the comments!!
