Handy if you plan on cooking the rat, just use a baking sheet instead of a board. It would probably be a good idea to grease the bowl and preheat the oven too.

Just tried this last night... worked like a charm. However, I ended up catching a rat. That guy was terrorizing my pantry for 3 days. Finally caught him with your glass bowl method. Used peanut butter coated in brown sugar as bait on the stick. Thanks for the video.

This is simply a deadfall trap that doesnt kill. Its used by hunters in the wild. While not as reliable as more complex traps, its simple to use and easy to reset upon failure or success with the only real cost after set up being time and probably bait. Its also a humane way of catching vermin rather than out right killing them, its NOT likely to injure the animal due to the object not being heavy enough to kill them at the small height it is held up, furthermore compared to some of the other more brutal tactics that are used in mouse traps such as glue traps which can sufficate a mouse and snap traps that will literally kill the mouse, this ensures the mouse can then be released in another area far away from humans.I would however reccomend using a longer dish.

A lot of animals can carry diseases, like dogs and cats, but that doesn't mean you should hurt/kill them...
@andy-the-gardener7 жыл бұрын
JKEbNotJacob ffs they are pests and not going extinct any time soon. humans are predators. get over it. reserve your sentiments for vulnerable creatures, not everything.
@jkebnotjacob29737 жыл бұрын
andy765gtr Predators? When's the last time you saw someone eat a mouse they caught in their trap? All I'm saying is that "because they carry diseases" is not a valid reason to kill them.

Our rats are smart enough to cover up the poison with plaster to stop the baby's eating it.
@113048008 жыл бұрын
It is a simple rat trap--but it looks like it is a bit too small for a rat that big. I think that's why the rat escaped the first time. If the trap was larger--then the bait stick could be longer -the rat would be further from the opening.
@113048008 жыл бұрын

Y'all need to learn the point to these. It's for people with infestations who cant afford commercial products or services. If you're complaining that the rats don't deserve to die, then how about you live with an infestation. Try it. It isn't fun. Stop being over-sensitive.
@pittabread7 жыл бұрын
mice*
@princess_shell7 жыл бұрын
That's because all of these over sensitive people grew up watching Disney cartoons with animals acting like humans. Now they have it in their mind that all animals, even disease spreading vermin, have feelings & have little families that live happily ever after in La La Land. These rats don't care who you are, all they wanna do is eat. They'll eat your house (causing health hazards), eat your food/clothing/anything you have lying around, they'll even bite your children. Not to mention they were the animals that spread the death/black plague.
@rupasomm84496 жыл бұрын
A simple suggestion. The bait and sticks may be placed longitudinally (lengthwise), bec in this instance half the body of the mouse is sticking out when the mouse reches the bait.

@henry666997 жыл бұрын
This bowl is too small for the larger rats...system is good but should be done with a bowl that is bigger to create more distance between bowl and body of the rat. Now the rat's body is barely covered by the bowl. The distance between the edges of the bowl and the rat''s body is too short. If the bowl is bigger the distance for the rat to escape becomes bigger. Nice trapp and also a possibilty to catch it allive instead of killing it.
