Joel is criminally underrated as is his work in general , he deserves so much more recognition ...

Beyond the fact the moderator was extremely rude, Boy Erased needs to be shown all over the world, if it hasn't already. As Nichole said, if it saved one life... This will hopefully be a story that will help save the lives of so many.

marvel nephilim Do they have conversion therapy in Australia? Why were these Aussie drawn to the project?
@mickeymouse2able5 жыл бұрын
coincidence? But there's conversion therapy everywhere. If not in an institution, in every day life. When family members or friends don't ask if you have a boyfriend or how's your health or did you see the movie "Love, Simon" (just making conversation) they're pretty much telling you they don't want to talk about it or they wish you weren't that way. Or is it just me?

I'm Aussie, I went to conversion therapy and have many Aussie friends who did. Anywhere there is Christianity there is conversion therapy.

I don't think a movie like this would ever be redundant simply because it represents such an important piece of LGBT history. Even if conversion therapy is all but gone, what it represents in our history will never be forgotten which is adversity. I get what he means though.

I have the same feeling about Troye Sivan as I had when I first ever became aware of The Beatles way back in 1960 (ish) when they first appeared on British TV on a local North West English TV channel. There was a feeling with me and the people I was with at the time that as we were listening to 'Love Me Do' we all felt a strong awareness that we were hearing something VERY special here and we instinctively knew that this band was going places. It just came over us a very strong feeling of excitement and anticipation for the future of that band! Well, I'm getting the same feeling here with Troye Sivan. I'm predicting major things happening in Troye's future career in all his talents of singing, acting, modelling and whatever other disciplines he decides to go for!

Another Oscar nomination for Nicole Kidman...pleaseeee
@k.eckardt14075 жыл бұрын
She's gonna get nominated for and will probably win Best Actress for Destroyer, which comes out next month, it's supposed to be a whole other planet of acting for her. Who knows, maybe she'll get a Supporting Actress nod for this, I'm sure she'll be among the contenders.
@addiatmeikokusuma80585 жыл бұрын
@@k.eckardt1407 yes..she maybe get double nomination for Boy Erased and Destroyer.. But she get higher chance to win in this.. I hate to say this but Lady Gaga is on fire with Star is Born.. Nicole is on another league for Destroyer. Her best acting to date. But Oscar tend to give to IT girl not necessarily the best in the year.. Remember J-Law, Sandra, Julia or Gwyneth? Sad but true..
@kevlow94945 жыл бұрын
@@addiatmeikokusuma8058 I hope Nicole is indeed a double nominee she truly deserves it. I think Glenn Close or Lady Gaga may win for Best Actress and Regina King or Amy Adam's for Best Supporting Actress. We'll see!

There are movies that are for entertainment. This movie is an answer to prayers not just of me but of millions. I feel that is not anybody's fault. Is the absence of education. Even a lot of us that we are born this way. Need to learn. Definitely this is going to educate and save people's lives. Thank you to everybody that had something to do with this movie. Troye, I've followed you since you started singing on KZfaq from your bedroom in Perth when you were still a kid, commented on your many clips as roman3773, especially on your coming out and then one day lamented that you had to let go being a KZfaqr to become a singer. I was so sincerely pleased when I saw that starting to happen. You're an angel. Don't ever let that change. A big hug from Ottawa, Canada. So sad, that people use religion as weapon against love and compassion. The power of real love and compassion can be so mind blowing. I know there are also good Christians. I moved away from Christianity and became a Buddhist monk. I talk regularly with people of other faiths, and I support some people who have been abused in such camps but also other institutions. Live in France, but hope to make a Merit Tour in the USA/ Canada in a few months. Conversion therapies should be banned! There should be love and compassion camps, sorry, societies!

If you enjoy Gay, Coming of Age videos and stories, you’ll want to read Cameron DeCessna’s latest book, Clay Parker: Growing Up Gay in 1953. It’s the story of a fourteen-year-old boy confused by his feelings, thoughts and dreams as he reaches adolescence and finds his sexual interests are for other teenaged boys. But it's 1953, a time of conservatism and rigid family and moral values. To top off Clay's problems, he's an orphan forced to live with an abusive aunt and uncle who openly show their distaste for the lad who was severely burned when a house fire killed his mother, father and younger brother. They would be the last persons he could turn to, to help him cope with his alien feelings. This is the story of Clay's troubles, trials and final triumph as he strives to find a family who will love him after he is forced to run away from home after a severe beating by his drunken uncle. One part of the story deals with Clay's uncomfortable experiences listening to a sermon at his aunt and uncle's church. He discovers the real meaning behind the story of Sodom & Gamorrah and how it demonstrates the Bible's condemnation of being queer. The book contains graphic sexual descriptions that may not be suitable for children under 12, although it would be highly recommended reading for gay teens to raise their awareness of the struggles of adolescent gay boys in earlier times. Cameron DeCessna is a gay novelist best known for his Jordan Dare Trilogy, released in mid-summer of 2018 and available at Amazon Kindle Books. While the Jordan Dare series is written for all readers, 12 and up, and has no adult-only content, some of DeCessna's works are more suitable for adult readers. This novel, Clay Parker: Growing up Gay in 1953, is the first of several gay, coming-of-age stories the author plans to release in late 2018 and 2019. DeCessna, born in 1951, writes from personal experience and vividly captures the difficulties faced by gay adolescents during those times. Look for Cameron DeCessna’s books and visit his author’s page at Amazon/Kindle Publishing.

Just skip to Troye's input at 21:54 - the rest is pretty unsatisfactory. We have Joel Edgerton to thank for the movie, but I find his input quite leaden. Read the book, enjoy the film and let the soundtrack uplift you.
