Shounen no Abyss (Boy's Abyss) is a manga series that I cannot stop thinking about. So I decided to make a video about it. It's one hell of a ride, so I hope you're prepared.

Just read it in one sitting at 1 am and my god. This hit me like a train and felt like a fever dream. I’m in the same boat as you for how I also want to know what happens next. So I do enjoy it as well. Thank you for making a video about this and showing me this crazy series. Can’t wait for the next chapter.

*Stare into the abyss, and it won't be long until the abyss stares back at you.* This is my first ever manga read without any anime adaptation, where I've only heard of it from a, and ironically, meme edit of Yuri-sensei's "I am the Goddess of Salvation" panel. Seriously though, it's so criminally underrated. Needs more attention just for how compellingly disturbing it is. Traumatizing? Yeah, for me it truly is. Thrilling train wreck... A shocker panel after panel. It's a beautiful tragedy, an absolutely chilling and disturbing read that I tried to binge-read in one sitting (finally stopped at Chapter 44, had trouble sleeping and was up for about an hour, and then continued reading it the next day only to stop at Chapter 62, and then the next day, rinse and repeat), but failed as reading the manga especially in the dead of night (from 1-4 AM) makes it even more eerie for how fucked the chapters go as the story progresses. It surely left a deep mark on me, that's how immense its impact was on me, seeing that this could perhaps be my first ever read on a heavily depressing work of fiction portraying darker themes, more sensitive, graphic, disturbing and straight messed-up shit. Basically one hell of a roller coaster ride. Or rather, it feels more like an absolute mess of a car crash that you just can't help but see through the end. Peak despair. And y'know what spooked me down my spine? It feels too real. Because it very much happens irl. It's too unnerving that it's such a fascinating, amazing experience. I'll never regret giving the manga a read out of sheer curiosity. Everything, from the art style and pacing to the dialogue between characters, makes it all feel so uncanny and uncomfortable, but at the same time a hopeful and optimistic lens on an otherwise dead abyss. Thank goodness I found this horrifying masterpiece from searching for yandere memes. Definitely an experience that will stick with me in the same way those panels of yandere Yuri-sensei will forever be burned in my memory. God, I wish for an anime adaptation. Please make this happen soon.

hopefully you haven't forgotten about this manga because if you have seeing this comment is going to jog your memory. I read this for 5 hours straight today, at least I think since it was too much time to count, and got up to chapter 73 in one sitting. And yeah I feel like all of this applies to my experiences, except for the wishing for an anime adaptation part, this type of manga would never get adapted, unfortunately. The reality of this manga and the fact most crazy shit that happens within it can happen in real life is horrifying. Very enjoyable read though, even if it dragged me to the abyss

@@rei7178 bro do I need this reminder. It's been a whole year since I commented and it's been a whole year since I was last so hooked. I read until Ch.99, been a very long while since my last read (I was in the arc where MC spoke with his dad) that I kinda forgot some stuff (I had to reread even if I don't wanna experience the whole train wreck all over again). I'm weak when it comes to messed up stuff like this, but I remember one summer night exactly a year ago, that I read through at least 60+ chapters of the manga in just one sitting, and it only tooke me a week tobe completely hooked to it. My addiction for the manga lasted for about a month until I just forgot about it and moved on because the story was too much for me to handle. Today's exactly one year later since I last commented about Boys Abyss in a lot of YT videos, and this comment of yours reminded me about the stuff I left ignored a year ago.

I’ve also got pretty into it, I’ve read like 50 to 60 chapters in one sitting, one thing I love is the small spaces that happen, where you can breath and process all that’s happened, to process everything before the manga picks up again it’s pace.

Young Jump has some of my favorite recent titles. Oshi No Ko is great too. I’ll definitely check this one out.

Very nice flow in your script. Structured, yet comes off as natural. Tone shifts and creative ideas all fit the style while still treating heavy topics with decency and sober analysis. You deserve many more views imo. I actually completely share your sentiment about wanting to know where the author takes the story while thinking bruh wtf he is just throwing more shit into this fire.

Punpun is my favourite manga of all time. I'm guessing by "the horizon" you mean the korean webtoon? I haven't dived much into manhwa yet, but it is a series I definitely want to check out soon

Yeah punpun is.... punpun, i cannot put in words man, punpun is just.... Something other worldly for me too. Yeah I do mean the webtoon by the horizon, however it's art style was very much akin to a manga so i didn't notice it until I read up on it later. I don't think its that long, but by the end of it I was at a loss of words. It has different themes from that of shonen no abyss, however I cherish these mangas very dearly as the beautiful ones, even though they are the ugliest. Give it a shot if you a night to spare.

You know.....I've had a life like this. Kind of. Similar themes, anyways. My C-PTSD has C-PTSD. And. I'm probably working towards an S-Rank. ; ) But. I laughed through that story's description, harder than I've laughed in a long time. They don't ever pause for breath or allow for a moment of genuine warmth, do they? It was all very therapeutic. I no longer feel like my own life has just been a horrifying porn parody of itself, now that I've had a chance to compare. Thank you.

I started reading this manga cause I was on MyAnimeList and was looking through all the ongoing Young Jump manga and saw the cover art to this manga which is what made me want to read it I didn’t even read the plot I just jumped straight into it without knowing anything and damn I was in for a bumpy ride but I loved it like yeah the manga is f*cked up cause all the characters are just f*cked in the head but that’s what made it interesting to me just imagine when this manga finally gets an anime adaption I feel like it’d cause controversy just off the first episode I’m waiting for this to get an anime I hope they do it right and don’t censor it cause censoring it would ruin the seriousness, intensity, drama, and emotion in this series the TV Show censors and speed runs through everything which bothers me but please give this manga an anime right now they have enough material for 2 seasons with 12 episodes season 1 can cover up from chapter 1-46 and season 2 can cover up to chapter 47-90 those are the perfect stopping points of a 12 episode season

I read 1 to currently 154th chapter. Welp this manga felt real and relatable. It's funny how i enjoyed it even tho i was depressed at the time. Anyway yuri gang, also i hope she and reiji gets together , dont ask me why read the latest chapters. Ill just wait for the new chapters from now on. It"s really a masterpiece tho.

Boy... Ive read a lot of depressing sht but boys Abyss... is meh. Not into me. 😕i dont like the storyline. Spoilers ahead* Meet a novelist! He's the ex-boyfriend of your mom and possibly your biological father too. Meet a teenage idol! Plotwist, she's secretly in her 20's and she's actually the novelist's wife. But hey, it wont stop you to fall in love with her and become her f*ck buddy. And surprise! 🎉🎊 The novelist doesn't mind if you are fcking his wife. Then...your bestfriend falls in love with you. And your teacher falls in love with you. Oh wait, there's more... your childhood friend too is gay and he falls in love with you! But wait... theres more! The father of your gay bestfriend is fcking your mom. Plotwist your gay bestfriend is not gay because its fcking your mom too. More plotwist, the mom of your chubby bestfriend date the novelist father too. And he's not your father actually.... It's like a horrible mexican teledrama! And why almost all the characters sleep around like hoes in the streets? If i will be stuck in that kind of story I will commit suicide too. 😑

This manga comes off as so stupid how it portrays some things but it gets into it's own rhythm as it goes on and it kind of works. Really don't know how to feel on this one.
