Autism Speaks received an email from Robin Newberger about a very special gift her 5-year-old son Daniel received from their trash collector, Manuel. The video titled "The Gift" has become a viral gift video with millions of views. Manuel's good deed was recognized by his company, E.J. Harrison & Sons.

The onions always turn on whenever I watch certain scenes in Toy Story 3 ("She doesn't love you no more!"), Inside Out ("I miss my hockey team.") and Coco ("Remember Me").

I'am now 35 years old and I have also autism. When I are 6 years old, my father wil put me from my home, because I was very difficult, but my mother take all care for me. Thank you so much to post this video. I hope much people of the world who see this think about the children they get, to take a very good care of them. I wish you both very luck, peace and care to get this boy Daniël to get a good person. Again, thank you very much for posting. It's a wery eye-opening for other people!!!

So what if the boy was in a wheelchair? Would we title it 'Boy in wheelchair... ' I mean, seriously? A similar thing happened to my son, who is also autistic, except that in his case, he got to go inside the cab of a fire engine and take pictures with some off duty fire-fighters. It's people like Manuel and those fire-fighters who help make the lives of children with autism special. One thing I've learned from my son is that there is magic and wonder in the everyday things we take for granted. Thank you for posting this video!

this morning i was reading about civil forfeiture and a follow up story to a child being permanently disfigured by police in a raid, now tonight i see an average employee of a garbage truck buying a child whom he has no obligation to, a toy. i wish the world could be more skewed towards the good, the simple, the right and less stress, evil, and blind eyes.

Doesn't it look like it's always been like that? A guy shoots up a local mall and EVERYONE knows his name by the end of the hour. Another guy builds a new orphanage to help a large group of unfortunate youths and nobody gives him so much as a glance. We NEED to pay a LOT more attention to all the good things in life, because focusing on all the bad will just make you bitter.

I've watched this several times this morning and sob everyone. Daniel reminds me so much of my own 4 year old grandson who is also autistic and loves cars and trucks. Thank you Manuel for your sweet gift of kindness that touched this family and also the hearts of so many others. We can all take a lesson from Manuel that kindness does indeed matter.

At the beginning of the video when the garbage truck is picking up the can, the boy is doing hand gestures like he has the force. I thought that was pretty awesome and thought the driver was going to mimic his hand motions with the crane to make it looks like he really had powers. This turned out to be just as cool.

That was the sweetest thing ever I have a son that has autism and when I heard this angel talking is like I heard my son GOD bless him and bless Manuel for this grateful gift..And to those that don't have a heart just don't comment because you don't know what it is to have a son or a daughter with AUTISM. They are special very special children and very inteligent and they are a gift from GOD to us!!!

I know it will sound funny but... Manuel is not the "trash man" like you all say, it is a little symbolic but Manuel is the one that clean all the trash away !! i believe he have lots of trash to clean here too!!!! i wish there will be more people, so understanding and helpful to our kids with Autism! Kids with Autism see the world in different eyes, but they are so much understanding the act of good & kindness.
