Boyle's Law

For a fixed amount of an ideal gas kept at a fixed temperature, pressure and volume are inversely proportional. Or Boyle's law is a gas law, stating that the pressure and volume of a gas have an inverse relationship, when temperature is held constant.

H1 is measure at oped end, h2 is measure at close end

sir, when the open end is up, the total pressure on air column is H + h. ( when it inclined also with open end up) when the open end is down, total pressure on air column is H - h. ( when it inclined also with open end down). Therefore, 5th reading 19.2(76+(59.8-49.4)) =1659 2nd reading 20(76+(52-45)) =1660 1st reading 21.5(76+(47.5-47.5)) =1634 3rd reading 23.4(76+(42.7-49)) =1631 4th reading 25.4(76+(38-47.9)) =1679 please observe, when the tube is vertical with open end UP, pressure on air column is maximum, therefore its length is minimum. As the inclination increases pressure reduces, therefore length of air column increases and becomes maximum when the tube is vertical with open end DOWN. If you do the experiment in the order 5,2,1,3,4 you will get correct result. DEAR PHYSICS LECTURERS PLEASE OBSERVE IT.
