The two times I did a 6 month deployment at NAS Sigonella (I flew in P-3C's in VP-10) I'd see these Atlantique's every single day on the Italian side of the base. We'd also see Nimrod's there as well but we felt the P-3C Orion was a superior anti-submarine warfare aircraft not only it's range with 4 engines, but the large variety of weapons it could carry including the B27 nuclear depth bomb.

how evvil are americans for not letting this aircraft flourish, they did the same with avroe and tsr2. no wonder they throw their allies under the bus.
