I am not even a country guy but I will listen to Brad just because of his talent. And he's a really solid dude. I saw him give a little star struck kid at a concert the guitar off his shoulder. He literally pointed, handed the guitar to the kids mom and said "get him some lessons, here's his starter kit" and the crown went nuts. That is a good dude

@@Knoxvillemoto country guitar playing is some of the most complicated and difficult genres to play on an acoustic guitar which is what country is played on. If you're thinking of today's country, then yeah, it's not that complicated...but once you start moving into more alternative, red dirt, especially bluegrass....you'll find some of the world's best guitar players playing bluegrass-style music. Tommy Emmanuel, Bryan Sutton, Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, Richard Smith, etc... Playing acoustic...there's no hiding behind reverb or "effects" like you can get away with with an electric guitar in other genres.

B-benders have been around since the late Clarence White - then of the Byrds - did "Sweethearts of the Rodeo" with that band. It was once called the Parsons-White string-bender, in honor of him and Graham Parsons. G-benders came along later. As did devices like the palm pedal, which allows any of the six strings to be raised or lowered in pitch. B-benders got a big boost in Nashville in the 1970s,1980s and after - when legendary Tele-master Albert Lee started using one on sessions at various times. He was one of the top guys in town at the time, so after that, a lot more players started looking into them. Got to love those steel-guitar like sounds!

YOU are one of THE VERY BEST! I recently bought a TELE 40th Anniv Squier, with the idea of having a Certano G & B Bender installed on it, which I did. I love it, and although Certano is from France, David Certano gave great customer service. And the Install process is not as severe as what I saw you had to do on installing a B Bender using the Gtr strap. I do remember the Byrds doing it first. Other than Brad, I've also seen it done by the Eagles as he said in this video, but also Diamond Rio and Alan Jackson's lead Gtr player. The sound is distinct. The idea came from my buying a Dobro from the Jackson Steel Gtr Co, that had a special EDGE Bridge on it, that bends 3 of the strings, 2nd, 4th and 5th all at once. It is set up in E Tuning for that reason. Still getting used to it, but I had played a pedal steel and a 5-string banjo yrs ago----not at the same time-----haha, so also fingerpick a Gtr and was used to that. With the Tele and Bender, that process is just a bit easier. I just wish there were some YT LESSONS on the Certano Bender. Thanks for this video.

Gibson had a limited edition model in 2013 with a string bender. It was called the Music City Junior. It is an LP Jr. shaped ash body in a natural finish with a maple neck and fretboard with two P-90s (don’t know why they called it a Junior instead of a Special) and the Glaser string bender that can be used on the B or G string. I really want one, but they are insanely hard to find now.

+MetalCarn we dont have to get into a deep discussion about this, but why do you hate country? Do you immediately dismiss it before listening? Maybe I am being unfair, but in my experience, when I ask people, they said its "because it's about dogs running away and people crying on their farms". And I cant think of one song, ever, that has anything to do with that. Regardless, yes, I've done well trying to emulate other guitarists but for whatever reason, trying to play like Brad still eludes me haha he's really good.

The Post Color Blog He probably thinks that. Perhaps he young and has a narrow mind. I know I did when I was young. I was a rocker, Led Zepplin, Montrose, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath and the likes. It isn't that way nowadatys for me because I am a musician myself and I like any kind of music whether it be Rock, Metal , Country, Jazz, Latin, or Classical.About the only stuff I don't like is that extreme metal (screaming shit) and hardcore gansta rap

Brad is in my top guitarists list - like my list matters! Most of my favorites are from back in the day: James Burton, Roy Nichols, Clarence White, Albert Lee, Danny Gatton, etc. Brad took all of the great aspects of country and jazz and blended it into his style.

I've never been a massive paisley fan, but I love country. The term "country," just like rock, folk, blues, etc is such a massively broad term that people shove a whole ton of different styles into cause its easier to market. Dont dismiss a genre (any genre) just because of the name of it, research and find different styles and I guarantee you'll probably find some shit you dig everywhere

Brad’s always been one of my favourite players. He’s a phenomenal musician. Songwriter, guitar player, entertainer. Everyone should check out his first 3 albums, the guy was smoking back then. He kind of went the bro country route after 5th Gear but hey they all do to stay on the charts

Check out Chet Atkins. Or Vince Gill. That's the beauty of live music, you might think you don't like something, but you watch someone play and find yourself really diggin it. Waylon Jennings is cool electric country. I'm a hard rock and funk fan, but the country guys can play!
