This video is a follow up to all the options videos I have done in the past. I have talked at length about what direction beginners should go when trading options through the wheel strategy and the poor mans covered call.
I went through all the comment sections of my options videos and found the most frequently asked questions. In this video I will talk about my favorite options strategies and what my thought process is from start to finish when trading options.

I watched my first video of yours I think it was covered calls.. but you misdefined what Delta is.. idk if you're aware of it or if anyone commented on it but Delta being the gain for a contract every dollar the stock price moves to the upside.. this can be a little confusing when you actually watch the delta gain not be exact every dollar up to what is listed and that is bc there are other Greeks that factor into that equation as well.. so it's never exactly the number listed for delta but pretty close.. I hope I don't sound like a know everything options wizard policing youtube.. wish you nothing but good luck with the channel

I am *finally* starting to understand the poor man’s covered call. Appreciate the delta recommendations. After watching your Greek’s video, how much are you then paying attention to gamma? I’ve been going lower on my deltas than .30 bc I’m taking gamma into acct and making sure it doesn’t elevate my delta too much. I will also now start setting limit orders on my buy price on covered calls.

Hi Brad. First of all, I want to thank you deeply for the amazing content you provide us with. I have a question. During the PMCC part of the video, you said that you never put a strike on a short call that doesn't at least bring you to breakeven. A bit later, you said that you look for a delta of around 0.2 on the same position. I looked a bunch of dividend growth stock and I never seen an occurrence where a delta of .20 give a strike price high enough to pay the long call and bring me to breakeven. (Given the long leg has been bought at a delta of 0.8) Could you please advise me on this? Thanks 😊

If you own the stock on the ex dividend date you get the dividend. Owning a LEAPS option is not owning a stock

Ended up in the "learning" direction since big brokers are more conservative with allowing options levels, so started level 1, could only do CC, now after some trades they allow level 2, so now I can CSP. Hopefully in a year or so I'm profitable enough they allow level 3 for PMCC, but not in a rush yet.

Sorry for the stupid question, I have a margin account with "interactive brokers". Generally I hold only a part of my margin to cover the cost of stocks I buy. But what happend once a put expire in the money and I must purchase 100 stocks? Can I hold only the necessary margin broker need or I must have 100 % of the cash needed for?

The beginner wheel strategy is PCP or Put Call Put. You sell a put at the price you are willing to pay for a stock every week until it falls under that and the 100 shares get put to you. That’s step one. Step 2 is to now sell calls against those 100 shares weekly at a price higher than you paid until the shares are called from you. That’s step 2. Last step is to repeat by selling another put on a stock at a price you want to pay for it, PCP. Now obviously fundamental analysis, technical analysis, and common sense principles come into it. Also position management but that is the basic strategy used by the professionals. Very simple and easy. My strategy is to buy a call then sell a put under it as a hedge against my loss. That can be costly for some but you can always sell a put and buy a put to hedge. If you want a larger credit for the sell then pick an expiration 30-45 days out. 45 Being the optimal but then you are locked in for a month if you are actually trying to get the 100 shares. Things change fast and I move fast so I do week to week.

Thanks for the video, when u say to place the Covered call above your basis, what should be done in the following example: Stock X is at price 9 but i own 100 shares at a cost basis of 12, now if i put the CC above 12 the option premium is 1 or even 0 dollars... what should we do in that case?

I look at the %’s more in an over monthly basis as opposed to individually. When I did I drove myself crazy. I look for 10-12% return monthly on all my wheel moves

why is that there are options with so high Theta that if you do the math day*theta*100 adds up more then the current option premium price. sometimes even if you calculate with half of the days you have till expiry. while some options has much lower theta not even adding up to the full value of the option premium? Did check TSLA vs GME vs AAPL same expiry with realistic strikes. As far as i know when someone writes a call or put option (sells) that someone has only the option:) to set the expiry date and strike price all other parameter like greeks are automatic. Is there something i missing?

Since I found you on youtube I've been applying what you've taught and I made $304 in one month doing covered calls and puts. I started investing 2 months ago; great humbling start. Let’s assume I buy a stock for a long hold that I’m looking to sell before expiration. During this period , I’m also planning to sell covered calls to maximize my gain. So does it mean I can make money selling covered calls and still make money if I’m able to sell the initial stock I bought before expiration?

Brad, I've been day trading for a 3 months and my percentages are less than 50%, and I have seen enough through discords and other viewings that I am very interested in learning options. I've been looking for options trading information and have come across your videos. Just to reiterate, I am starting from ZERO knowledge on options. You videos seem to be working for me and I am starting to pick this up, but have not started making any options trades as of yet. My comment after watching several of your videos...the more examples you can add to your explanations where you show how to do these, in my humble opinion, the better. Question for you....I have Think or Swim and Robinhood. Do you recommend one over the other for performing options trading? thanks so much ken

Correct. When you buy to close, you are out of the contract. Brad has good advice to close before expiration. I've been burned by trying to squeeze a little more premium out. Lesson learned.

So to close it you would have to roll for a loss. Your only option other than that is to wait till expiration and get assigned. I guess I didn’t understand the question

I already rolled it one time, just hope it will come back but it not and this contract will expire on 21May. Thanks again for your replying. I didn't understand the financial consequences of being assigned on the Diagonal Spread. Can you elaborate? 1. There is a pick up on the spread as long as your short strike is greater than your long strike 2. Probably have to pay to close your short (if ITM) 3. You have the pay the remaining premium on your long. #3 is what I didn't understand. I already paid the premium when I opened the position so this should be my asset; no? I could see having to sacrifice the premium by exercising early, but not paying it.... Look forward to your response. Great work on this channel BTW.

I been trading Tesla at a low level $1k investment to get it down and I dropped from $1,300 to $700 making a bone headed move where I sold for a loss after 3 days of Tesla tanking on my call spread. I learned if I held til the end of exp I wouldve maxed my profits. Changed my strategy to hold even when you are down a lot if you have time and I am now up to $2,630 on my invesment. Covered calls is my next goal w/ Tesla...good stuff....love your videos

maybe im just losing my mind... but something said in this video about the wheel sparked an idea. correct me if im wrong, but if you sell a cash secured put and it becomes in the money, say you sell at $10 and collect a premium of $0.25, you keep the $25, and you get assigned which just means you buy the shares at $10. you incur the loss of whatever the share price drops down to, but keep the $25 premium. Why wouldn't it be a good idea to just keep getting assigned? what i mean is, why wouldnt you just sell a call now at $10 for the max premium, (maybe) get assigned, keep the premium, sell a CSP at $10, rinse and repeat? maybe im not seeing something but wouldnt that just be more lucrative on a stock that doesnt move much?

It’s super hard to find a good beginning weekly stock, with decent volume, at a lower price, for more than $2 premium. $6.50 price is the lowest I’ve found so far.
