well, they did get upgraded optics, that is why they are so much better than the russian counter part, beyond that there isn't much else to improve there offensively that would make a big difference, just make it much more expensive, the big improvements are in overall coordination and recon, and that can't be used in Ukraine yet with russias AA still live, and also - don't give away the card before you yourself might need it (russia or china war with NATO), because as soon as one side starts using something unseen and advanced, the other side starts to take notice and work on countering it, there is never a long lasting advantage

Those looked like the HE rounds hitting it. They are a lot more effective at taking out vehicles like this than the AP rounds. An AP round is only 8mm in diameter and is good for taking out plenty of things but the HE rounds will literally blow holes through that armor.
@Bob94390Ай бұрын
Most of the 25 mm rounds will not penetrate the armour. Maybe even none om them will. But the tracks, the turret bearing, the optics, any outside fuel tanks and so on may stop working, so the MTLB may soon be blind, stuck and perhaps even engulfed in flames. That may perhaps not feel so good on the battleground while being fired at with a machine cannon. By the way, Bradley also has a TOW launcher. This is more cumbersome to operate and can't fire many shots, but it can definitely penetrate most russian armour. So those who may have survived the 25 mm cannon inside the tank may then consider if they should wait for a TOW, or abandon tank and face the 25 mm machine cannon without armour. In any case, I don't feel sorry for any russian terrorist inside a russian tank in Ukraine now.

Bigger guns are not always better. A 25 mm backed by proper optronics/FCS and mounted on a vehicle that has more than a finger thick of armor is a far more efficent tool in combat that slapping as large guns as possible on a tincan and pretending it doesen't need thermal imagers.

@jonny2954Ай бұрын
@@cmtwgrdk2748 Main disadvantage of the 40 mm Bofors is the very low ready ammo count. Only 24 rounds ready to fire at the gun, reloaded by a crewmember in 8-round clips. That's why no other customer except Sweden got the CV90 with the 40 mm gun. Everyone else got the 35 or 30 mm. 35 mm version has 70 ready rounds, 30 mm version has 160 rounds. 30 mm Puma has 200 ready rounds. 30 and 35 mm have programmable airburst fuze verisons aswell. Remember these guns are double fed. Means 70 ready rounds are 35/35 or 30/40 KE/HE. That's already low. That's why many go for 30 mm.
