Before I could even get a qualified run for my SRB river kile run, Brad goes and does this. Stunning work as always! I was actually surprised to see that this could manage the return trip too, but I see that the Mun gravity assist and Minmus wheel braking helped a lot with that. ... Now I need to get back to work...

I love how such a simple yet elegant rule, no staging allowed, has brought so much depth and intrigue; and kept players of your caliber with a game that is approaching 10 years old. Keep up the awesome work! :D

Well, with enough stages you could do anything, so that’s boring.

@@Mike-oz4cv is this video boring to you then?
@Mike-oz4cv3 жыл бұрын
@@buttersquids Of course not because it depends on smart design instead of just adding more boosters. Anyone can get to Moho, Tylo or Eve and back with enough stages. To do it with certain stage or mass constraints makes it more challenging and interesting.

The initial thrust limits are the biggest issue. Otherwise, the ISP is very similar to SRBs. You could probably get almost anywhere using the "refueling tug to Minmus" approach used in the Minimal Bill Eve Lander. Eve and Tylo are probably no-gos though, just for reasons of physics. I would be happy to be proven wrong though.

That Minmus landing! *chef's kiss* I can understand it needing a literal metric ton of reaction wheels. On large semi-realistic builds, I'm starting to rely on RCS instead of reaction wheels because if you don't clip the wheels together, they just take up too much space, requiring large heavy cargo bays in spaceplanes. But I suppose I could clip several together and just say they're heavier wheels, couldn't I? Edit! The Kerbin gliding was wonderful too! :D
