Use for psoriasis suboria, dermatitis. Don’t use daily. Some anti fungal activity, some sido static activity (decrease cell turn over). 7:53 Tea tree oil. Anti fungal. Lift up layer of skin. Helps with itchiness 8:29 coconut oil. Good moisturizer. Not good for dandruff due to oil. 9:28 Aloe Vera, moisturizing, works for dandruff antioxidants, anti inflammatory 9:50 ACV - just bcs “no evidence” doesn’t mean not true. “no evidence” just means we didn’t study it, or we refuse to acknowledge health benefits people have experienced with a product bcs we didn’t study it. I am SO guilty of picking at my scalp. I have dermatillomania so I spend several hours a day feeling my scalp for flakes, dry skin, pimples, etc... and as much as I try to avoid doing it, the second I am bored or zoning out or just sitting around, my hand is on my head or face 24/7.

I find getting my nails done like getting fake nails put on helps a lot because you can't pick at your scalp the same way with the fake nails. They're not as sharp as real nails so it makes it difficult to pick or scratch the scalp.

I have ezema, and pretty dry skin over all, and I think the shampoo I was trying out was irritating and drying out my scalp but it never occurred to me that the root of my problems would be my shampoo! i've struggled with this for YEARS now and my doctor knows, i have a mix of seborratic dermatitis with pre-existing dermatillomania so that is just a horrible combo. i was prescribed ketoconazole shampoo but stopped using it bc i was dying my hair fashion colors and that shit would strip the color like crazy and overall just leaves my hair feeling super dry. I'm growing my natural hair out again and using the shampoo but my anxiety has gotten worse which means I've been picking more. it is really great to see that I'm not alone in this and see more information being shared with the public on it. i have always been so insecure abt my hair and skin bc of this and even though it's kinda a trend rn to take care of your scalp a little extra, i have definitely found some new things that have helped my situation through it trending and am incredibly grateful!

I have both psoriasis and dandruff on my scalp. Psoriasis on my undercut area and dandruff all over. I have to use a specific psoriasis shampoo twice a week and I use head and shoulders for the rest of the week. I have dry hair in general so I use the supreme nourish and smooth head and shoulders and it does really help make my hair smooth and my scalp a lot less dry and did help my dandruff. I really appreciated this video and the tips and products I can try! Love and appreciate you Brad

Basic scalp care has made my life so much better. I used to not brush my hair properly because I thought it made my hair “too frizzy” and now that I do that as well as follow basic scalp care steps I have never had such relief from itching. My hair is much nicer quality as well and any frizz is much easier to manage.

So glad Dr Mike was talking about how 'chemical' and 'toxin' aren't bad words. It annoys me as someone who studied chemistry that many things try to claim to be 'chemical free', which just isn't physically possible, and "it's the dose that makes the toxin" is literally something I've said to people in the past!
@sadafduaa7545
@sadafduaa7545 3 жыл бұрын

@diana6echo
@diana6echo 3 жыл бұрын
not a chemist, but it pisses me off also when someones says "but it has chemicals in it", BIATCH, everything is chemical, something that was done in lab does not mean it's worse, like red dye made from crushed beetles wings-_-... and not all "natural" is also good for you - I once tried different shampo so I went for lavender instead of nettle, same manufacturer etc., and oh boy, those were most itching 48 hours of my life ever -_-...
@DrAmaFie
@DrAmaFie 3 жыл бұрын
@@diana6echo I'm not liking your comment for you ending up itching, but for the agreement that not all natural things are good for you. I'd also say to watch out for "naturally derived", as that can sometimes mean it was made in the lab to match the specifications of a truly natural product.

@@adrianna1608 I live in India where it's mostly warm or hot, so it freezes only during winter for like 3-4 months. Oiling hair with coconut oil during winter even after microwaving it would result in film coating the hair strands. The scalp portion remains fine because of the body temperature but the strands becomes weird. BTW have been using coconut oil since childhood and that ain't changing. But I do avoid it in winters.

I’ve always suffered from dandruff my whole life and I went to a hairstylist to cut my hair. And she had the nerve to ask if I wash my hair correctly and if I wash my hair. Of course I know how to was my own hair! It’s a SKIN CONDITION that is out of my control and I’m trying to treat it but it’s really hard. I’m tired of people making it seem like people with dandruff can’t wash their hair.

That’s horrible. Some hair dressers today are acting Bouchée and they don’t even work at the high end salon. I had a hair dresser tell me the same thing as u of not washing my hair. I snapped back at her I’m like my hair is washed I was my hair 2x a week. I have product in my hair and I’ve been around town. Are u gonna cut my hair? U gonna wash it to your liking and charge me extra?. My hair was flat looking and looked dull and the product I was using mixed with sweat didn’t do well . I tried to explain to her about and she just didn’t care . I’m not like this to people but I had to stand up for myself as I was being disrespected and she was literally rude . Yes I do understand there are literally people out there with just straight up nasty on the head that are not medical conditions. You were taught in school about the different skin conditions on the scalp. I know I was when I went to cosmetology school. I wanted to go to another person there but they were all busy. Yeah she cut my hair all right . Didn’t even do it correctly. The manager wasn’t around for me to make a complaint. I was livid. I never went back . my fault for staying and allowing her to cut my hair .

I think it depends on How they ask. Sometimes people don't know that some brands of shampoo/conditioner affect them. Other products can as well. Some older hairdressers also had to take other classes some of the new ones don't and do learn about skin conditions and fungal stuff. ..then there are people who wash their hair but they don't exactly wash it right, it's not their fault they just don't know. It's a touchy topic.
