നഗരങ്ങളില്‍ ഉണ്ടാവുന്ന തീപിടിത്തങ്ങളെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കാനുളള വഴിയാണ്‌ ഈ വീഡിയോയില്‍ എം.ആര്‍. ഹരി പങ്കുവെക്കുന്നത്‌. മാലിന്യം ശേഖരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലങ്ങളില്‍ വലിയ കൂനയായി തളളുന്നതിനു പകരം ഓരോ ചെറിയ ബ്ലോക്കുകളായി തിരിച്ച്‌ അവയ്‌ക്കു ചുറ്റും ചെടികളുടെ ഒരു മതില്‍ തീര്‍ത്താല്‍ തീ പടര്‍ന്നു പിടിക്കുന്നത്‌ തടയാന്‍ കഴിയും. ഇത്തരം ഹരിതമതിലുകള്‍ ഫാക്ടറി കെട്ടിടങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ചുറ്റും നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുന്നതും നല്ലതാണ്‌. മിയാവാക്കി കാട്‌ മൂന്നോ നാലോ കൊല്ലം കൊണ്ട്‌ നാല്‌പതടി ഉയരത്തില്‍ വളരുമെന്നതിനാല്‍ ഇതൊരു മികച്ച പോംവഴി തന്നെയാണ്‌.
In this episode, M. R. Hari suggests a way to mitigate the effects of fire outbreaks in urban areas. Instead of having a huge waste-dumping ground, splitting it into small blocks, and planting Miyawaki forests as green walls to surround each block will help contain fire in case of an outbreak. Such green walls can be put up between factory buildings too. A Miyawaki forest will grow to a height of up to 40 feet in 3-4 years of planting, and can work as an excellent solution to delay the spread of fire, thus giving us valuable time to seek help from the fire force department and cut our losses.

അങ്ങ് പറഞ്ഞത് വളരെ ശരിയാണ്. കാക്കയെ പണ്ട് " അങ്കണഭംഗി"യായി കണ്ടിരുന്നു.അന്ന് അജൈവമാലിന്യങ്ങൾ ഏറെ കുറെ ശൂന്യമായിരുന്നു.ജൈവമാലിന്യങ്ങൾ സ്വാഭാവികമായി അതാത് വീടുകളിൽ തന്നെ. സംസ്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.പലപ്പോഴും കാക്ക,കോഴി തുടങ്ങിയ സഹജീവികൾക്ക് ആഹാര മായിരുന്നു.ഇന്ന്,മറ്റ് ജീവികൾക്ക് അന്നം കൊടുത്താൽ,അവകൊണ്ടുള്ള "ശല്ല്യം"കൂടുമെന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.മരങ്ങൾ പോലും ശല്ല്യ മായും,അപകടസാധ്യത യായും കാണുന്നു.......... ഈയുള്ളവന്റ ഒരനുഭവം പറയട്ടെ, ഭക്ഷണമാലിന്യങ്ങൾ പറമ്പിലെ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക സ്ഥലത്ത് നിക്ഷേപിച്ചിരുന്നു.കാക്കയും,പൂച്ചയും അണ്ണാനും,മറ്റ് പക്ഷികഴും ഇവ ഭക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നു.എന്നാൽ കുറച്ചുദിവസത്തിനു ശേഷം, രാത്രിയിൽ ഇടുന്നഭക്ഷണാവശിഷ്ടങ്ങൾ,രാവിലെ പൂർണമായും ശൂന്യമാകുന്നത് കണ്ട് അത്ഭുതപ്പെട്ടു.കൂടുതൽ നിരീക്ഷണത്തിൽ ഈ ശുചീകരക്കാരെ കണ്ടെത്തി... ആമകൾ.....

But the fundamental concept of a city or town itself is to have a very high density living model where you move people and resources are moved to a small location for efficiency. But the side effect is, land becomes hugely expensive, while miyavaki itself is a dense model, land for planting trees itself is not easily available. Then trees make most citi people uncomfortable, it can fall on you, it can foster snakes and other creatures etc. etc. My point is, it is the outdated city model that is the root of the problem. You have mobile networks all over the country, online vendors have figured out ways to deliver to the remote corners. So develop in a distributed fashion, then ensure enough vegetation and trees in between, or plant miyavaki forests where it is required. Current model of city development is totally against environment. There's no way you can make it green IMO (I'm not an expert btw)

Your point of the existing city structure which is totally environment unfriendly is very true. Nothing in that can be redone by us in a blink time . So, all we can do is to make its impacts less harsh.....and Miyawaki model of planting trees is a good solution. Its very much viable in the concept of making urban forests.....rapidly making green patches in whatever space available.

ഹരി സാറിന്റെ ഉദ്ദേശം സത്യസന്ധമാണ്.... പക്ഷെ തീ പിടിത്തം ഉണ്ടാകുമ്പോൾ കാടും മരങ്ങളും ഒന്നും ഒരു അഞ്ചു മിനിറ്റിൽ കൂടുതൽ നിലനിൽക്കില്ല.... തീയെ തടയാൻ ഈ ചെറു വനങ്ങൾക്ക് ആകില്ല.... ചെറുവനം എന്നത് പരിസ്ഥിതീകമായി അത്യാവശ്യമായ ഒരുമുൻകരുതലാ ണ്..... അതാകാം..... വെസ്റ്റ് കുന്നു കൂട്ടി കേന്ദ്രീരകരിച്ചു സംസ്‌കരിക്കാം എന്ന ആശയം തെറ്റാണു. കേരളത്തിൽ അത്‌ വേണ്ട. ഉറവിടത്തിൽ തന്നെ പരിഹാരം ഉണ്ടാക്കണം. പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് സമ്പൂർണ്ണമായി നിരോധിക്കണം..... ഹരിസറിന്റെ ചെറുപ്പത്തിൽ പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക് ഇല്ലാതെയല്ലേ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നത്.....

മാലിന്യം കുന്നു കൂട്ടാനെ പാടില്ല; എന്നാൽ കുന്നു കൂട്ടുന്ന സ്ഥിതിക്ക് അതിനെ ചെറിയ കഷ്ണങ്ങൾ ആക്കുക എങ്കിലും ചെയ്തു കൂടെ എന്നാണു ഞാൻ പറയുന്നത് . ഫാക്ടറികളിലെയും, നഗരങ്ങളിലെയും തീപിടിത്തത്തെ തടയാൻ മരങ്ങൾക്കു ആകില്ല .പക്ഷെ, ഒരു അഞ്ചോ പത്തോ മിനുട്ടു താമസിപ്പിക്കാൻ അതിനു കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ, രക്ഷാ പ്രവർത്തനത്തെ അത് സഹായിക്കും . പിന്നെ ടാങ്കുകൾ പൊട്ടിത്തെറിച്ചു രാസവസ്തുക്കളും മറ്റും വീഴുന്നതും കുറച്ചൊക്കെ അത് തടയും . അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഫാക്ടറികൾക്കു ചുറ്റും ഗ്രീൻ വോൾ എന്ന ആശയം ലോകമെൻപ്പാടും വ്യാപകം ആയിരിക്കുന്നത്

താങ്കൾ തുടക്കത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞ ആ പയർ കുറേ കാലം മുമ്പ് ....80's ൽ ആണെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു..... റബർ തോട്ടത്തിൽ പുതയായി വളരാൻ വേണ്ടി റബർ ബോർഡ് കൊടുത്തതാണെന്നാണ് അറിവ് . സാധാരണയായി റബർ നട്ട്2 വർഷമാകുമ്പോഴേക്കും ഇത് വിതക്കു കയാണ് ചെയ്തിരുന്നത്. 6-7 വർഷം എടുക്കുമല്ലോ റബറ് വെട്ടാൻ തുടങ്ങാൻ ... പിന്നീട് ഇത് വല്ലാത്ത ശല്യമായി മാറി എന്നത് വസ്തുത. ഈ സാധനത്തിന് പയറ് ഉണ്ടാകും ..... ധാരാളമായി ഉണ്ടാകും ...... അതിലെല്ലാം ചാഴി വന്നിരിക്കും, വല്ലാതങ്ങ് പെറ്റുപെരുകുകയും ചെയ്യും. ഇതിന്റെ പരിസരത്ത് നമ്മൾ പയറ് നട്ടാൽ ഈ ചാഴികൾ മൊത്തം അങ്ങോട്ട് വന്ന് മുഴുവൻ വിളവും നശിപ്പിക്കും. എത്രയൊക്കെ മരുന്നടിച്ചാലും ഇവ ഇല്ലാതാവില്ല..കാരണം പെരുകാനുള്ള സാഹചര്യം ചുറ്റും നിറഞ്ഞ് നിൽക്കുകയല്ലേ.... സ്വാഭാവികമായ യാതൊരു ശത്രുകീടങ്ങളും പക്ഷികൾ പോലും ഈ ചാഴികളെ തിന്നുകയും ചെയ്യില്ല.. ഗുണം ഒന്നും ഇല്ല എന്നല്ല.... പശുവിന് കൊടുക്കാം ആടിന് കൊടുക്കാം ..... പെരുമഴക്കാലത്ത് ഞങ്ങളുടെ പശുവിന് പുറത്തിറക്കാൻ പറ്റാത്ത വിധം നിൽക്കുമ്പോ ഇത് സമൂലം പറിച്ച് കൊടുക്കുമായിരുന്നു. തിന്നോളും ......വേറെ കുഴപ്പമാന്നും ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുമില്ല .... ഒരു പാട് മൂത്ത തണ്ടുകൾ കൊടുക്കാറില്ല.
