comments about his current UN assignment of land restoration throw light on various misconceptions people have about rivers, dams, land degradation as well as land restoration, and show that interventions, however scientific, have to be sensitive to the differences in terrains and natural resources, so that sustainable and climate-resilient measures can be adopted for managing natural as well as man-made disasters and ensuring the general health of our planet.
