I think we've all been there at some point, you either get away with it or you don't. Looks like one of those moments when you realise you're coming in too hot and you have to overcome your instincts, let go of the brake, tip it in and hope. Keep your eyes on that vanishing point. Easy to say from my sofa I know. Glad you're ok 👍
@user-pj7go6ie4u2 ай бұрын
Light pressure on rear brake helps to stabilise the bike when you're coming into a corner too 🔥 😅😅😅

I've done a couple of track days at Cadwell Park. Each time the instructors in the safety briefing drummed it into us that whatever bike you're on, Vale (or others) could go round so much faster than you. It's not the bike, it's you that is the weak link. If in doubt, look at where you need to be (apex, exit) and try to make the corner (unless you've not braked at all). 9/10 you'll be ok and make the corner. Obvs in the moment you have to overcome the 'fight or flight' reflex, easy to say, harder to do. I just made sure I had safe braking and turn in points for each corner, and stuck to those until I felt comfortable moving them forward a bit at a time. Glad the rider is ok, everything else can be replaced. 👍

@Worther12 I agree but this works more as advice for a fast street rider that target fixates. His pace was already extremely high,he was basically backing it in already and he was too late on the brakes the bike was wiggling and the suspension was loaded on the front, turning in would’ve probably resulted in a high side.
@chriscrampton582Ай бұрын
@@walterhorn5567 like say I'd lifted it up and run staight over the grass I've been hot into there once twice allways manged to get round easy ran alittle wide it's a physical run there anyway easier than done when you have panic and decided your not gonna make it, stand it up ,scrub as much speed as u can, then realise front brake go ouve grass my laps round 139 best easy consistency lap 141 ,142 not to shabby for old guy on road bike lights incators no tyre warmers, anyway we fuck but place to fuck up I say

Crashed in exactly the same place and circumstances as I did 5 years ago at cadwell! I was carrying too much speed down that straight and thought I wouldn't make it around the left bend.panic braked and laid it down before the bike and I cartwheeled up the grass bank. Luckily I only had bruising and friction burns,the bike wasn't so lucky lol😂

There are a few comments questioning his grip on the right bar. To answer those, if you are having to hang on with your hands you are already out of control. That’s why the ride position on a sports bike is laid forward, you are almost stood up so your legs are doing the hard work. The bars are just controls, not for hanging on to.
