I was laughing when you mentioned how cold climate dwellers can use the porch/outside as extra freezer/fridge space, because it reminded me of the time we had people over and tons of snow so we had put a bunch of beer cans out in the snow on our backyard patio. We rarely ever went out there otherwise, but the nosy cranky old lady that lived behind us came knocking at our door one day in like...May..asking us "When are you going to get all of those beer cans out of your yard!?" and we were like "Huh? What beer cans?" and we looked out back and sure enough there were like 30 beer cans-full-out there. We completely forgot and felt dumb and laughed, but she didn't see the humor in it.

Everything looks delicious! I am interested in the candy cane recipe. Sounds delicious. I do the same in winter time, using the outside cold weather as my frigerator. When I was a kid and we visited our grandparents in PA, we used to use the mountain creek behind their house, to keep things cold. They had no running water and an ice box on their front porch. I got a laugh out of it when you talked about gifting your neighbors rather they are snoopy or friends. I have the snoopy ones - lol. If your outside doing something, they drive by real slow trying to see what I am doing. About a month ago, I needed a rental car to get back and forth to work because my car was in the shop getting a transmission put in. One of the neighbors ask my cousin if I got another car. My cousin had no ideal what was going on. I did not know I have to explain everything going on in my life to my neighbors. 😅

I made your white chocolate Chex mix, and it was a big hit! Since I'm a tight wad, I vac-sealed (in jars) the ingredients I didn't use for the recipe, so hopefully I won't have to buy the stuff again next year when I want to make it. My adult son came into the kitchen after looking in the pantry and asked why and how I had canned m & m's.😂

Next time you're decorating something on a platter, etc. slip some sheets of waxed or parchment paper underneath and all around the cake to catch the sprinkle overflow. When finished carefully remove the paper and your plate or dish is clean. Merry Christmas!

My daughter made the Christmas "Chex mix", but added Bugles to it. They are so salty and crunchy, they are a fantastic addition, or replacement for Chex, to the "Chex mix"; because you need that salt to counter the sweetness of the white chocolate!

Every Christmas season I make A healthier version of Buckeyes . Fresh ground almond butter, soaked and drained dates and a bit of almond extract. Roll in balls, freeze then dip in very dark chocolate. I also make maple glazed pecans, just pecans, maple syrup and a little cinnamon, baked at 300 for 20-30 min. Neighbors, clients. friends, Mail person, Fed Ex and UPS all get little gift bags .

Those magic bars look really yummy, but they are different than the Magic Cookie Bar recipe I have from an old Eagle Brand milk can. I gasped when you put the vintage Pyrex in the microwave! I think that’s a big no-no. I have a lot of vintage dishes and I hand wash them and don’t put them in the microwave, as they were made before microwaves were around. Wow, you really are an expert cookie decorator! Do the cookies taste as good as they look? PS Your hair looks fabulous today! Merry Christmas!

You can make bread easily by hand, it just takes about 10 minutes of kneading after mixing all the ingredients. Then let it rise, shape I to a loaf, let rise again and bake. Simple! You can do it! There are lots of videos on here. There is even bread you don’t have to knead.
