Benny Rodriguez is one of the best, most wholesome characters of all time, especially for kids who didn't have many friends growing up.

This movie captures the magic of playing with your friends when you’re a kid like no other. Even the relatable ending, where some of the kids go their separate ways as time moves on, except for a few that stay lifelong friends.

Yesterday we got Happy Gilmore and now The Sandlot!? I feel so bad for childhood Brandon. He saw NOTHING growing up haha

I love how whenever they were scared of the dog, they showed like a fake dog like a puppet dog that was terrifying, that’s how the kids depiction of it, and then when they actually get to meet Mr. Myrtle, and actually get to meet the dog to be nice, it turns into a very regular sweet dog. I just like how they gave that perspective

My friends and I once had a heated argument whether or not this was considered one of the great childhood movies. None of them agreed with me that it deserved that title. I still think I'm right.

One of my favorite parts of this movie is that after he joins the team the movie is no longer about him it’s about the group of friends

The firework scene was really telling. Every kid was so captivated by the fireworks that they stopped but then you had Benny who was so committed to the game that he kept playing
