The car was running good tyres, had good fuel and despite the brake discs being well past their best was running well.. In this clip doing 53.0X lap which isn't too bad.
I met someone I hadn't seen in probably ten years and was explaining how I thought the rear toe was out and describing my plans of using string to test my theory. This person simply used their eyes and looked at the rear wheels.
The back right had toe in. ✔
The back left had toe out. 😲
Once pointed out I could see this but W(hy)TF didn't I realise this sooner???!
Shortly after, I ran over something going through paddock hill. On my next lap it became very apparent something wasn't right. A puncture ☹
Mrs Samellio is away and leaving the car or getting recovered wasn't really an option.
As luck had it, an old mate, Stew, was there randomly doing something posh with Quaife. I'd invited him out for a few laps earlier in the day then he very kindly offered to drive me all the way home to collect spare wheels and tyres then return me to brands to rescue the M4.
About 1.5 hours later I returned to Brands with 2 fresh wheels with fresh trofeo r tyres, swapped them over and ran the car in Dave Woodall's Opentrack session in the evening. 255/35/18 front A052, 245/35/19 Trofeo R rear 😂
