Күн бұрынAbsolutely brilliant afternoon at Brands once again!!
Unsurprisingly, with good tyres/brakes/setup the car felt fantastic and put in a 52 second lap in traffic. Still buzzing from the race with the E46! I wanted to keep going but it was one of my first sessions and hadn't set tyre pressure, it was at about 40 psi when I stopped! 😂
After nearly 6 years I've finally decided to change the stock suspension, Bilstein B16 dampers will hopefully be getting fitted soon 😍
I doubt it'll make the car much quicker but fingers crossed will make it feel a bit lighter and I'll be able to adjust the balance a bit. I think this should help with dialling the car in with the various assortment of second hand tyres I use 🤞
Current mods:
Camber plates and alignment/corner balance setup by Jags at BMSport
Litchfiled stage 1 map circa 500bhp
Michelin cup 2* in 245 +265 on stock wheels
Ferrodo DS1.11 pads, stock front discs, EBC rear discs
1638kg without driver
2000kg with driver 😊

Big fan of ds1.11. Use them on my M4 too.

Yes they’re a great pad, also the ds uno very good. My favourite is the EBC RPX as they’re a fair bit cheaper and very consistent over long sessions. I’ve used countless sets of most pad on F8x, wish they lasted longer but it’s a heavy, fast car.

BMW Mx is an amazing car, so powerful and so smooth. I think you could go much quicker by turning later in almost all the corners. You have so much power, aiming for a later apex and going on a throttle earlier would save a lot. That white E46 in front of you, his lines are very good, especially at Druids, see how late he turns compared to you.

Thanks for comment, agree about the BMWM being amazing! Respectfully, I’d disagree with your advice, check some of the BTCC drivers laps for advice on lines, if you think taking later apex at druids is quicker you could save a lot of time. Have you ever driven Brands? The E46 should’ve much quicker than me, it was on slicks vs my roads tyres, aero, had similar power to weight yet was doing similar lap times. It was fantastic session 👏

@@samellio BTCC cars are very different. 🙂I don't mean very late apex, I just mean later than the line you were taking in this video. Sorry if I offended you, I actually watched a few videos of yours and enjoyed your driving, it was just a suggestion to try something else if you are into squeezing more out of the car. No offence taken and thanks for comment, it’s good to always try to be less slow!! I’ve done literally tens of thousands of laps of brands over many years, I think if you’re a novice you do the late apex thing but it’s not for me, it was something I was confused over for a long time because some people said to do it but always felt faster turning earlier. Then when trying to keep up with people that get paid to drive I copied them. You can take lots of different lines I think. It all just comes down to what lap times you get 👍
