The woman with the hatchet is a reference to Carrie Nation, an American prohibitionist activist from the turn of the century who was famous for going around smashing bars with a hatchet; the high school in Bratz is named "Carry Nation High School" (spelled wrong???) but im honestly shocked they put such a deep cut American historical in the movie, truly a piece of art

I always assumed Meredith was in the 10th grade and the bratz were in 9th grade, then after the 2 year time jump, Meredith is a senior and the bratz are in 11th grade, because at the end when she’s spying on their performance with her dad, he says there’s always next year, and he says there isn’t because she’s graduating

In 2019 I went to the PLL reunion in Dortmund, Comic Con, and I especially walked up to Janel Parrish, just to ask her on some stories about filming this movie. She got real emotional because it was her first movie and was suprised that anyone there knew the movie. We also hugged afterwards, and I got the conversation on video

Natalia Ramos lived in my town when this came out, and I distinctly remember her visiting my class (in 3rd or 4th grade) and giving my teacher a massive signed Bratz poster (she was her fav old teacher I guess).. that weekend I went to Blockbuster out of curiosity and my life was forever changed.. those who get it, get it!!!!! I can actually explain the hatchet lady thing. For some reason the school is named after Carrie Nation, who was a famous temperance activist (that means she wanted to ban booze) who would go to bars/taverns/pubs/saloons/whatever and use a hatchet to literally smash up every booze bottle in the joint! She was wild.

Lol or maybe movies targeted to girls should be better

I don’t know why I’m starting this argument, but I honestly always hated this type of media as a kid and felt insulted by it. I’m not saying I was too smart for it, I was a stupid child and very girly, so I never understood why other girls weren’t insulted by it too. Of course I wouldn’t have been able to explain what I meant by “this type” of media at the time, but it was the same type of stuff being pumped out by Barbie, and whichever brilliant but cynical marketing team decided that the Spice Girls should be marketed like living dolls rather than actual people. I definitely didn’t think I was “not like other girls”, and I wasn’t a tom boy by any stretch of the imagination. I was into all sorts of stereotypically feminine stuff, just not “this” type of media. If you’re still reading this, and I don’t know why you would be, I agree that liking this movie as a kid, or being nostalgic about it as an adult, doesn’t make someone an idiot or superficial or anything like that. On the other hand I also strongly agree with all the reviewers that think this is intentional garbage made by money grubbing adults who don’t care about their audience or respect the intelligence of children, especially girls. There’s a lot of shallow, stupid, badly made girls media out there. I think that it’s crazy to say that it’s misogynistic to feel a little angry about it and think that little girls deserve better. It may or not to be a stupid thing to get my panties in a bunch about, and it’s definitely a first world problem, but it’s not misogynist. This stuff just kinda sucks, and thats okay.

Definitely at least three mimes lurking at 9:40. Maybe four or five total but could also be juggalos or emos based on the oversaturation of cliques. Those little background details honestly make this movie pop.

as a bratz doll collector, the movie is equal parts camp and god awful lol. also i’m very much impressed with the fact that you chose my favourite era for bratz art (2002-3) to show of the girlz on that bag 💕✨

As someone who's way to into history, the Bratz girlies go to Carrie Nation HIgh School an miss Carrie here was big in the prohibition movement where she would go to random bars and basically destroy them with her hatchet. She was a ✨menace✨and we stan. Long story short, that's why there's hatchet signs all around the school lmao

THIS! I rewatched this movie recently with friends and IT MADE ME SO MAD. I had to pause the film to explain why they were wrong and I'm so glad they got called out for this! The Bernoulli effect is pretty basic fluid dynamics that you learn at undergrad 🙈 That and the cheerleading audition where she magically changes race because... I guess they couldn't find a black stunt double? This movie is iconic but those scenes are so infuriating lol

The lady with the hatchet is cus they go to a school called “Carrie Nation High School” and Carrie Nation was a famous leader of the Women’s Christian Temperance movement who were a movement that supported prohibition. And Carrie became famous cus she was a sweet little old lady who would go find illegal saloons and smashed them apart by herself with a hatchet. Iconic.
